Necessary Supplements for General Health

Outside of the proteins, creatines, and preworkout supplements, what are you must have supplements for general health and well being? This is assuming one knows they need to clean up their diet, limit drinking, get better sleep, and exercise.
I’m 40, could stand to lose 15-20lbs, and my diet could be improved. I have a plethora of supplements that I take and looking to scale down. I generally take things individually in order to get a higher mg which ends up being too many.
Goal: to get the vitamins and minerals that i need, but wouldn’t necessarily get from a relatively clean diet.

You answered your own question. Eat better. Drink less. Workout harder.
Sups aren’t necessary. Proper moderation on overall intake be it eating or drinking and proper exercise are what’s necessary

I’m not an expert but I take C,D3,zinc and magnesium.I started taking Turmeric /Curcumin complex,1000 mg daily.about a year ago and it’s amazing how it’s eleminated aches and pains I had.I’m 71 ,I used to take Excedrin 1-2 times a day for pains in back and shoulders.Nothing debilitating, just an annoyance.I haven’t taken any Excedrin in months now.
I brought my neighbor with aching back a bottle and he raves about how much better he feels.
Older people often need to take Vit B12 due to decreased absorption.

Go to your GP and see if you’re deficient in anything. Take those.
For example, I’m as healthy as I’ve ever been, in shape, exercise, get plenty of sun. After my last checkup I was told to start taking vitamin D.
As a good all around, a men’s multivitamin or the C, D and Z vitamin.

Vitamin D. Most of us are deficient.

Agree with the D3, make sure you take it with K2 so the calcium gets to your bones.
I would also rec a high DHA omega 3 and probiotics.

Onnit Total Human is a daily and nightly supplment pack that ive found is a great balance. I dont feel its excesive or too many pills to take. Plus ive had great results with bloodwork tests etc while taking them backing it up.

Go get some blood work done and see if you have any deficiencies.

In times past people used to do a yearly detox. Like wormwood or something. The biblical references to wormwood and parasites are interesting. Unrelated to covid, there are very interesting behavioral changes some people have observed from taking something like ivermectin. For whatever reason, nowadays parasite medicine/detox is not talked about even though those buggers are everywhere.

I am starting to feel like I’m taking too many things. In my Smoothies (about 4x/week), I’ll usually include Chia, Flaxseed, Turmeric, local honey, & Apple Cider Vinegar along with the other usual ingredients.
I’ve also added a Cal/Zinc/Magnesium, Ashwaganda, and Fish Oil that I each take most days of the week. Haven’t felt need to take NSAIDs lately even though I’ve been even more active with sports.

DHA
It's shown to improve cardiovascular and brain health. Also, data supports DHA as a treatment for depression, arthritis, and inflammation.
It's very hard to get enough DHA a day (and your body can't make it) unless you're downing Avocados and Fish on the reg. I do, but still supplement because it's that important to me. Fish oil liquid or capsules do the trick.
Vitamin D
Most of America is deficient in D. We sit inside all day and don't get the sunlight required to produce enough of it. There isn't much risk in supplementing / going a bit high, as side effects are very rare unless you are MEGA dosing.
NMN
This is one that I personally believe strongly in.
Some light reading on NMN

I wouldn't take much more than maybe some Vit D - and even on that I'm skeptical.
I think pre-workout is likely actively bad for you.
Add some oysters into your diet to get some copper.

You don't need any of those 3 you mentioned and you certainly don't need anything else.
You can easily get 150 grams of real food in a day if you want to and you don't need creatine at all.
They are called supplements for a reason

Turmeric/Curcumin-Spring Valley brand.Buy at WalMart.Bottle says to take 2,I only take 1. Pretty sure it’s not in my head,I quit it for a couple of weeks and my aches and pains came back.
Some info on Vit D3 I didn’t know.Old Guy I was talking to about Vit D3,said he took a multivitamin that included D.He was referred to a kidney specialist for renal insufficiency.Apparently his Vit D level was dangerously low,Dr. put him on 50,000 Units twice a week for 3 months and will recheck.Dr.told him the Vit D in a multivitamin wasn’t absorbed,to take the gel cap version.I myself was relying on multivitamin for part of my daily dose.

Around the spring, I started going to the gym often and there was also a time when I was taking supplements. But I realized that it is better without than with them. The only supplements that are part of my diet are vitamin complexes. I also started eating healthier and because of that I felt much better than when I took various supplements. Some of my friends can't give them up but it's everyone's choice

Any specific brand of NMN you are taking? Read the article you linked and sounds pretty interesting.

A balanced diet and you absolutely dont need to take anything.
The only reason someone would need supplements are because of their shite diet. Maybe you have an iron deficiency or something, but that can still be fixed through proper diet.
