Burrow states SEC Stadiums are louder than NFL stadiums and they start breaking out Guinness book world records getting all bent out of shape …. Has anyone been to Arrowhead and can compare it to Death Valley against let’s say ranked Florida at night

OMG you mean fans said their stadium is the best/loudest/hardest for opponents? Wow who could have guessed that

No one is taking that KC writer’s take seriously

Stewart Mandel:
quote:

BWAHAHAHAHA. Go to an LSU-Alabama game in Baton Rouge one year.

LINK

Jacob Hester:
quote:

I played my entire career in the AFC West, and Arrowhead gets very loud for a NFL stadium. Its right w/ Pittsburg & Seattle. I know the decibels argument, but for me the CFB stadiums hit different and are much louder. The band, the student section, all of it. What do y’all think?

At the end of the day, Tiger Stadium holds 30,000 more people than Arrowhead. Its just not fair. With that said, Arrowhead is at the top of the charts for an NFL stadium.

When did Burrow say this?
Was it recent?
Or are they taking an old quote and trying to make news?

It is true. Drunk college kids can get very loud.
The loudest college stadiums have 100k+ people. No NFL stadium has that capacity except Dallas, maybe.

Its an NFL Stadium, of course its not going to be louder based on size. The bigger the Stadium, the louder (except The Big House) that bowl disappates sound and they have too many old alums in the stands who want proper decorum and not drunken college yahoos like LSU and Florida among others.

The only smaller Stadium that punches way above its weight is Autzen because they built it deep into the ground so it has an airplane hanger effect.

I love it when N.F.L. people freak out over someone saying something about college is better than the N.F.L.

It's common knowledge the biggest SEC stadiums are louder than NFL stadiums, they are about 80% bigger

If Roger would quit running off fans maybe he could compete

Get back to me when college stadiums have Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid on the sidelines. You aren't playing the stadium you are playing the other team in the stadium. And don't give me any Nick Saban crap comparisons either. Saban had his chances in the NFL and had less success than Bill O'Brien.

Burrow said this in October. Taken out of context. I’ve been to arrowhead 6 times. Been to lsu student section for years. Both the loudest outdoor venues. LSU holds more and depending game/situation they have their moments. Arrowhead is build to be on top of the players and it’s the closest thing to a college environment. Very lsu like with the tailgating. Regardless…it’s gonna be loud AF Sunday.

None of this stuff really matters. It’s just quotes that fans drudge up some they can feel like they are part of a big game.

A professional football team that plays for money every week is not going to be that affected by crowd noise, regardless of stadium.

They might have a few false start penalties… or none at all. But it’s not like they are going to ball up in the fetal position crying… “it’s too loud.”

Crowd noise is overrated nonsense.

The real home field advantage comes sometimes from weather, but most often from familiarity with the surroundings and the visiting team being out of its normal routine.

Who was the old player that was asked about what's the biggest difference between NFL and college and he said "Smaller crowds"

The point of the quote was that loud stadiums don’t affect Burrow because he’s been in them before. He wasn’t talking shite or calling in to question the validity of KC’s home field advantage.

Now he could have said the women in KC are ugly, and while true, that would have been uncalled for. This is much ado about nothing.

All that matter is Joe Burrow will have to beat the Chiefs at the loudest outdoor stadium the NFL has to offer.
