Your turn Louisiana. Our laws are just as bad for NIL.

I think it had more to do with A&M putting out more money than the Clippers to get the top class.

All this shite is a goddamn embarrassment. It’s one thing to have NIL but another to have NIL and a transfer portal with no penalty for transfer.

So how did this happen last summer?

quote:

Alabama coach Nick Saban sent shock waves through college football last week when he told a group of Texas high school coaches that Young, a sophomore, was set to make "almost seven figures."

Meanwhile in Louisiana....

quote:

A postsecondary education institution shall not use an athletic booster to, nor shall an athletic booster, directly or indirectly, create or facilitate compensation opportunities for the use of an intercollegiate athlete’s name, image, or likeness as a recruiting inducement or as a means of paying for athletics participation.

Yeah, Bammer & $aban need all the help they can get ‘cause they get out-recruited by every other SEC school.

Oh man, I bet these rules have prevented Alabama from paying players like they wanted to. They haven’t perfected this a long time ago and now the ‘handcuffs’ are off, oh boy. Game changer.

Yeah because their lawmakers aren't a bunch do good ole boy regards with their hands out

quote:

Where they couldn’t before, a program can weaponize NIL. Boosters, behind-the-scenes, can establish funds for a player prior to his enrollment.

A coach can then say to a recruit something along the lines of “I know of X amount of money that is available in NIL should you choose to enroll at X school.” And then, if the recruit chooses that program, those deals can be inked and paid out upon enrollment.

We've ran out of time to catch up. Need to get our NIL in line right now or just go ahead and accept that were no longer going to be a top program

NIL, Free Agency(transfer portal), Obscene coaches salaries, etc. is killing college football.

It seems an NIL spending cap for each team would be needed to keep it competitive. That allows the athletes to still profit from their NIL. But I don't know what that number would be; or, if it is wanted by the schools that have an advantage; or, whether it would be legal.
