Just wait until schools with big endowments which means big time boosters start to leverage that ability and resources. Schools like Alabama and LSU will get swamped.

Michigan - 12 Billion in endowments
Notre Dame - 15 billion
Stanford - 12 Billion

If you think these numbers are not important as it applies to college athletics in the age of NIL, you are deluded.....A&M is one of the Top 10 in that category as well and we are seeing how they are leveraging it.

Harvard has a bigger endowment than any of them. Endowments are not athletics related.

Still will never come close to Texas money.

Texas A&M supposedly spent $30 million. Big deal! LSU and Bama have single boosters who are billionaires and can put up $30 million by themselves.

It’s pitiful that LSU was caught off guard & lesser programs (A&M, SMU, JSU etc) appear to be several steps ahead in something EVERYONE saw coming for months & months!

Was it the shakeup in Coaching? Maybe, but shouldn’t AD Woodward have addressed that after having made CEO a Dead Man Walking? Surely he didn't think O would be gracious enuf to bust his arse on NIL for a Recruiting Class he knew he would never coach?

How many $30 million classes can programs like A&M, Texas & other Booster behemoths afford? I guess that depends on the success that the HC has with the “Mercenaries” that were bought & paid for yea?

The schools I listed are D1 and at least 3 of the 4 are major players in college athletics. If you think that having access to that type of money is not a big plus and something that will not be leveraged then you must think that a fairy visits your kids at night to give them money for losing baby teeth.

All that says is that you can’t tell an athlete “I am paying you $1,000 to play here or come to school here.”

What it doesn’t prohibit is “residing in Louisiana give you a unique perspective on the potholes we have here. I’ll pay you a million bucks to tell people how good our suspensions are at xyz motors.”

That person can be a booster or otherwise as the way the statute is written. The booster just can’t use it for enticement or pay for play. *wink wink

No real change, Bama and Auburn have been doing this for decades.

I’m not sure why you would think that. Our NIL law is one of the more generalized ones that I’ve read.

Alabama is changing their law because they say it goes above and beyond the NCAA’s restrictions. They went as far as to make it a felony for a booster to use NIL as a recruiting tool. You won’t find that in the LA law.

You know another state that has a considerably more stringent NIL law than Louisiana? Texas. We see how that’s worked out.

It’s pitiful that you don’t understand that NIL or not LSU had a lame duck Head Coach and a staff which wasn’t going to be here. Go recruit with that. Brian Kelly is going to shut you dumbasses up.

All this shite is a goddamn embarrassment. It’s one thing to have NIL but another to have NIL and a transfer portal with no penalty for transfer.

Agreed. I think most people assumed this would be merchandise and players getting paid to have autograph sessions and such. Not getting $150k a year just for being on the team from a fake charity
