Would you get your five year old vaccinated for COVID?

My wife and I (mid 30's) are vaccinated but have not gotten our kids vaccinated (oldest is five years old). Our assessment is that the risk profile for young children seems to be a lot lower than adults as far as COVID goes. This is even more true now that omicron is basically just the cold and even the vaccines don't do much to protect against contracting omicron. In addition, the unknown long term effects of the vaccine, especially myocarditis, for kids seem to pose a greater risk than COVID at this point.
Am I crazy for telling my liberal mother and sister, who are trying to badger me into getting my 5 year old vaccinated, to mind their own business? It would seem that two parents could rationally conclude that the vaccine made sense for them at the time (spring '21 for Delta variant) while it doesn't make sense for young children at this time (weak omicron variant and vaccines not really stopping contracting omicron).

Risk for healthy people in their mid 30’s isn’t much higher than your 5 year old.

LOL trust me not true. I'm very right wing while my wife is center right/apathetic to politics. I am against vaccine mandates but think it's not crazy for adults to choose on their own to get the vaccine.

Absolutely not.
Unless they have leukemia or something there is zero medical justification for vaccinating healthy children.

Absolutely not. My daughter is 7, and no way in hell.

Absolutely no damn reason to.
There is no risk of serious injury or death.
They will struggle more with a cold they got from Kindergarten.
All the fear is a lie and the data does not support their goals.

We have not got our 5 year old vaccinated. Just don’t see the point at all considering he had covid especially
On that note, I don’t have any fear of the vaccine for that age and millions of children have received it without issue in the macro sense
Talk to the doctor you trust, make your decision, and frick everyone else’s opinion. It’s the only way to parent in modern times. You can’t worry about what other people try and tell you, because you will always have 50% telling you that you are a terrible parent regardless what you do
Post on Reddit and they will love you. Post here they will hate you. And vice versa depending on your choice

Nope it's a perfectly reasonable stance to not get kids vaccinated for a virus they have almost zero risk from. My 15 yr old isn't vaccinated.
