The NBA sucks, but they’re doing something right.

but college baseball in general just isn't a good product

Isn’t college essentially Low A ball in comparison?

Yup. I love it college baseball but the skill level between the two is night and day.

I know wood bats aren’t realistic for college, but every time I hear that ping, I feel like I’m watching little league.

ESPN doesn’t like promoting college baseball, though.

Because no one is really interested outside a very few college fan bases.

It’s about the equivalent of single A.

I really don't hope you think that is some kind of "got ya" moment considering I said "etc"

Unless of course you really expected me to name every fricking MLB player

MLB is the hardest league by far to make it into, especially with 1/3 of the league being foreign now.

TV producers are also accessories to the murder of baseball. In this day and age of giant HD TVs, they still insist to constantly zoom into the nostril hair of the pitcher and batter. They rarely show the field, which is especially important in this era of the shift. I get ragey when they do this, and they haven’t stopped, so I hate baseball except in person.

freddie is my favorite player in the league, but there are a lot of guys ahead of him on the list when you’re talking about excitement for casual viewers

Agreed. Used to love baseball. Can’t even sit thru a game unless it’s the World Series. Average age of MLB fan is 60 something.

- Game action is slow
- Games are too long
- season is too long
- The majority of the fan base is old whites, while the player base is more than 50% Latino; however, Latino viewers largely prefer soccer to baseball

Not that I agree or subscribe to the above, but these are arguments I’ve heard.

They lost me when not recognizing Pete Rose for the HOF, 20 years after he admitted to betting on baseball.

The United States is on borrowed time. This fantasy of a country was doomed as soon as we started pretending which didn’t take very long.
