We have recently made two trips up to Springville Al - both times, it seems we drive less time to get home than traveling up.

I said that i thought it was because we are traveling downhill to get home ….my wife (no pics) laughed at me so I’ve screencapped the travel time going up and coming back to defend my point-

Does anyone have a better reasoning? Or am i wrong?

If you go 100mph you’ll burn less gas on that downhill trip as well.

There’s some special motherfrickers in this place.

Are we really talking elevation here or just North/South?

sometimes when I'm driving West, traffic is backed up headed East, but not on the side headed West. Weird.

Sometimes traffic, accidents, and/or construction affect one lane more than the other. Sometimes it is very pronounced when you are going through cities at rush hour.
