Aggies have a ton of money and boosters that want to win so badly they are willing to shell out the money. LSU’s boosters, on the other hand, have seen winning in their lifetime, so they aren’t as hungry. They have shelled out so much buyout money over the years that they are gun shy to spend on 17 year old kids. This is a fact.

The interesting part is how these young men manage when Uncle Sam comes calling.

You think it’s a coincidence an 8-4 A&M team has the best class in 247 history after NIL is introduced?

I think it’s kinda stupid/desperate to spend that kind of money just for bragging rights of a national championship like there is no return of investment

They’re paying players, no doubt, but these numbers are completely made up.

Just going to say this. What evidence exists in Jimbo’s history suggests he can manage all of these blue chip players?

Remember how highly touted his recruiting classes were at FSU and how the locker room completely collapsed after Crab Legs got drafted?

There has to be some type of commitment or advertisement by the player, right? These deals can’t just be cash in hand, have a nice day.

That just reads as though the author was crying all over his keyboard. Schools have been paying players for a long time. Oklahoma has undoubtedly been one of the regulars. Throwing out ridiculous numbers only further makes that 247 mod look like a fool.

When rich people want something bad enough they don’t care what it costs.

I believe that the nil is tied to a yearly cycle.

I don't think the class cost 25 mil. That is just stupid talk.

Yup and Thsts how you get kids to stay and not enter the portal. Could even have contracts where you leave without fulfilling the contract you have to pay the money vs k. Sorta like buyout contracts with coaches

That's exactly what they are doing.

They put much thought into this. Just can't go into next year not doing the same shite.

This is what I keep waiting on. How can the NCAA approve this NIL nonsense but then have money going to players without any actual obligations or using their name, image or likeness?

Unless there's a Brewster's Millions kind of NIL clause about getting fair marketing value?

They can probably just have the individual LLC pay the kids and then post their likeness on a Twitter account or something.

How important was Marshall Malchow in this occurring?

Curious because Oregon hired him from aTm and Lanning said he was a very important hire.
