I still use them and all of our cars have CD players. They don't take up much space, and no one makes you use them. One of our cars even has a cassette player. Actually, my truck did too, until I upgraded the electronics.

I have a 2021 Ram 1500 Bighorn and it does not have a CD player. My wife’s 2021 Hyundai Palisade doesn’t have one either.

No one needs a cd player anymore...until they do.

integrating a cd player into car system is not a big deal.
People are stupid when it comes to music and sound.
They're perfectly happy with a facsimile of a song in the form of an MP3.

Hold on to them for 20 years. That’s about how long it will take them to become “retro” and “ironic” and hipsters will pay whatever you ask for them.

If it is a song I know, I can’t stand to listen to it, Sirius/Xm is especially bad.
Complete crap for music. Works great for spoken word.

My 2020 Sierra doesn’t have one

I bought a 2003 vehicle one time that still had a cassette deck in it. That blew my mind.

My 2016 Ram does not have a CD player.

I didn't think mine had one until I was playing with the infotainment screen and realized that there was a CD input. I started looking at the dash and there was a thin slot just above the infotainment screen. None of the usual CD logos or markings, just a slot with a nondescript eject looking button buried in with all the other buttons below it.
If there is no CD inserted, CD input doesn't appear in the normal progression of inputs when you press the change input button from the steering wheel, though you can set it to an empty CD player from within the infotainment screen. If I hadn't stumbled across that CD input buried in the infotainment menu, I'd never have known there was a CD player in the car.

Simmer down, Scout.
Subarus still have a CD player standard, as far as I know. They have Android Auto / Crapple Whatever, too

One came as an option in my 2014 truck. It’s had the same CD in it since 2014. I usually stream Pandora. So I honestly forget I have the CD player. Mainly because it’s in the center console under the arm rest.

I bought a 10 disc changer that played MP3s for my 2001 Jeep. That shite was the bomb! We were just coming out of prime Napster, and I had a shite ton of music that I was able to cram onto 10 CDs. I played road trip tunes solid from BR to Montreal and back that year.

I still use mine every now and then. Used it a few months ago to listen to the new Dolly Parton CD they were handing out at Dollywood when we were leaving. The Bluetooth in my 4runner is a bitch to set up and you have to redo it everything you start the car so I just gave up, so will do CDs on roadtrips every now and then when I don't feel like finding radio stations. Listened to a few on the way back to BR for Christmas.

Nothing has better sound than my trusty 45 player.
Doesn't work the best on Louisiana roads though.

When I bought my 2015 JGC Overland it was an option but it would take half the center armrest console space … no thanks.
Hell, the center stack is all screen these days.
