Thoughts? Do you Liverpool baws support outright shunning folks for decisions like this?

Seems rather discriminatory, imo.

It’s a strategic advantage.

Until leagues loosen their mandates teams really are screwing themselves signing unvaccinated players.

Being unvaccinated literally does nothing to reduce the chances of catching Corona.
So, what do you mean?

This seems like a major overreaction.

It’s their society. My opinion doesn’t mean a thing because I don’t understand their culture. So in that vein, it doesn’t matter if I support it or not.

It IS discriminatory if we are talking about America where you “shouldn’t” be able to force or coerce folks into things regardless of profession, creed, status, etc.

Do I like it? No.

Will I keep watching? Yes.

Should have prefaced it wasn’t anything to do with if vaccines work or are necessary or should be mandated, simply that leagues make it easier for vaccinated players who test positive to get back on the field quicker. For instance the NFL requires 2 negative tests 24 hours apart for vaccinated players where as unvaccinated need 10 days from no symptoms, so you are risking potentially having a player miss 2 games if unvaccinated.

Sadly the collective in that part of England who support the club will be all for it

Just to thumb their noses at Boris Johnson

He goes on to explain why he would want to avoid the unvaxxed for logistical reasons...

quote:

'From an organisational point of view, it gets really messy,' he said.

'We'd have to find different scenarios. He has to change in a different dressing room, he has to eat in a different dining room, he has to sit in a different bus, he has to drive in a different car. If you really want to follow the protocols, it is incredibly difficult to do.

'If we have to travel to a country to play international football and we come back, he has to get self-isolated, all these kind of things. Of course, it is going to be influential [in signing].

How so when you can still spread and catch it?

Will they sit players that don’t have their boosters? Since they are a threat to us all.

Is Liverpool a progressive area?

At least this new COVID freak out will remind us all who the idiots are.

One of the largest anti-vaxx factions in England is the Corbyn wing of the Labour Party, which is about as far left as you can get in British politics. They see the vaccine mandates as a crony capitalist affront to the right of workers to have personal autonomy in their healthcare decisions (the correct view imo). This is a big issue for left-wing trade unionists in the Midlands and the North of England. I can't speak for Liverpool, but I think this would alienate a large number of working class supporters of quite a few clubs in various industrial parts of England.

Germany and UK getting tough on the vaccines should push non vaccinated into leagues like Serie A and La Liga right?
