I saw the article about it this morning and thought the location was unusual. They just listed the intersection, not even the hotel name.

My wife (no pics) made me stay at the Ace last night for our anniversary. I had no idea any of this happened. And she wonders why I’m always looking around at our surroundings and not wanting to engage with people while in the city. Just more evidence to stay the frick away

I don't know. The Reddit post implies that there was a dispute over parking. I inferred that the valet did not have a gun and that the parker did. Thus, the more logical conclusion is a murder. But yes, I could be wrong. But it's still big news with not even the most basic information provided.
They could have said a valet at a major hotel in the heart of the central business district was:
-shot
-killed

The NOLA article says both drew guns and the customer wasn’t taken into custody yet not sure who the aggressor was.
Reddit post actually had zero details except man shot followed by speculation (rightfully so).
