What kind of **** is that?!

Every time I’ve read or listened to him answer that question, it’s pissed me off.

That always feels part of the deal when you steal someone’s coach. Kelly was the reason ND was relevant and highly ranked. He’s gone now. They have a super talented class coming next year (5th).

BRING US SOME OF THAT TALENT COACH

Sounds good in theory but what happens when he tries to go after these Notre Dame commits and they stay at Notre Dame because most of the staff was retained?

In the meantime we lose some of our own current and possible commits in the area because his focus is elsewhere. Kelly has the right idea with taking care of the backyard first and then branching out.

Yeah, personally, I agree, but then I ask myself, what would Saban do? Y’all know damn well what he’d do, and he has the championships to back him up. Make sure you got the guys who are already committed, locked in, then you raid that damn class if he’s able.

One thing folks have to remember though. ND usually has very loyal commitments. They’re smart kids who have actually sat down and broken down the pros and cons of attending the school they’ve committed to, and didn’t give a shite about what social media thought. It would be really tough to pull one of their commits. Most, if not all of them care more than just about football.

I’m sure Kelley will be making some phone calls to Notre Dame recruits now that the regular season is officially over and there are no playoffs. Like we truly know what phone calls he is making. This week he was trying to save face due to the backlash of him leaving. No doubt he’ll be calling up some of those recruits this week. That said, many will probably stick.

I just don’t understand how people still spell his name wrong. It’s simple.

He came here because lsu recruits better talent. Notre dame recruits matches their ceiling on the field

They have. Stop 5 ranked team because they have a full class committed where everyone else has half a class. Not sting there isn’t 1 or 2 or 3 kids we’d take but calm down. The talent level across the board isn’t the same. Also I doubt it’s as easy as you think. Both their dc now hc and oc are staying. And so is most of the staff.

What makes you think he won’t go after some of the ND recruits he likes or thinks he has a chance to sway? Because he said he wasn’t focused on them right now? Coaches say they aren’t leaving a program all the time until they leave

For what it’s worth, I think he handled that question as well as you possibly could

I think if some come calling Baton Rouge, he’ll take them. Not sure if he’s going to spend a ton of time or resources on them though. He needs to focus on keeping what he has and getting the remaining Louisiana kids… because they’re all big time

Kelly recruited this potential class while being paid by ND, and recruiting costs such as travel, hotels, meals, etc were on the ND tab. It would be highly unethical to now use that basis to recruit for another school. If a ND recruit were to contact LSU/Kelly on their own nickel to inquire about coming South, that might pass the smell test but the optics would have to be dealt with.
