Posts that Tommy Moffitt “liked” on Twitter today regarding blaming him for injuries

“Injuries are generally the fault of these things in order;
1. THE ATHLETE AND THEIR LIFESTYLE
2. The athlete’s playing / injury history
3. The current practice volume or general fatigue
4. Technical proficiency
5. Equipment / Surface
6. Lack of tissue resiliency from training”
“Somebody should say it so I guess I will.
Firing the S&C coach citing injuries when coaches are running 3 hour death match practices every week on top of games is complete and utter BS.“

Sometimes change is necessary for sake of change

The program as a whole needs an enema. Sorry Tommy got caught in it, but LSU was good to him for two decades.

I agree. The entire culture needs to change at LSU. Moffitt had an incredible run at LSU. But it’s a new era

Except, we know this to not be the case with O. He literally has said he’s had less physical practices to have the boys fresh on Saturday.
There’s certainly a balance, but nothing is wrong with finding a new S&C Coach. I appreciate everything Moffitt has done, but it was time. It was proven true he was the Les Miles of S&C.

Change is important sometimes. Moffitt was from the Saban era culture that cultivated the expectations there are now. Lsu has to get back to being that machine, the machine they allowed Les Miles and Ed Orgeron achieve a championship. It's just to get back to that point you have to cultivate a new culture.
I'm not one of those that thought Moffitt was a problem.

This is what a culture change looks like.

That's how he started, but he changed things last year when things went South.

From a S&C standpoint, Moffitt is one of the best. He has become stale, though. His programs are excellent.

Well I doubt BK fired him for injuries. It’s more like BK has his own guys he trust

Moffitt has done great for lsu for a long time. I don’t blame him for injuries. But I do think making a change is a good thing in this particular area…if anything, just to change things up and allow BK to make this staff more of his own guys

Moffit is not at fault for all the injuries, but the size of our oline has been shrinking since 2012. Something is not right with S&C.

Technically...we are still the defending Nation Championships since last year doesn't count.
Do see a need for change for change sake

Did Kelly let him go citing that?
S&C coaches are now basically viewed as a coordinator position with these coaches, Kelly may just want his guy. Moffitt has had a storied career here, probably an LSU HOFer but the new coach is beginning to mold the program in his image, there will be casualties.

Helping guys stay in playing shape and COACHING them in a way that helps them understand how to take care of their bodies in the offseason is a special skill. If the team is not responding to a coach like they used to then a change may be what they need.

Yeah, it’s weird that they just “expect” to be kept. It’s just like any other coaching position. The new coach gets to decide and no need to get butthurt about it.

Wasn't Moffitt getting close to retirement anyways? The guy isn't hurting, he made a shite ton of money and he's still highly respected within the industry. He'll be way fine. Has as much money and time as Orgeron now.

Former players: “we’re soft now”
Also former players: “don’t fire the strength coach”

So why are our linemen so much fatter, slower and weaker?
