Trade the Sugar Bowl’s primacy for the SECCG?

Watching the P12 Championship game in Las Vegas reminds me that the SECCG should be in the seat of SEC hospitality: New Orleans. Obviously that was not possible since we already had the Sugar Bowl, but that has obviously waned as a prize. In light of where we are, I’d gladly trade the Sugar Bowl’s primacy for the SECCG in the Superdome. I’m assuming I’m not alone among LSU fans. Anyone disagree?

I feel like I'm watching ULL versus Tulane

It should rotate between Atlanta and New Orleans each season so that one year it’s in East territory and the next it’s in West territory. It makes too much sense. But the SEC is worried the day they move the game out of Atlanta the ACC will move in and never give it back.

You then open it up to Dallas and Houston

Or you leave it in New Orleans every season
But the SEC has a giant hard on for Atlanta they’re afraid to lose.

It should rotate
I know that it’s highly unlikely for the SEC winner to be out of the playoffs, which is why I’m ready to trade. FYI, that scenario is why (IMO) the P12 chose Las Vegas.

Yeah, it’s actually pretty boring in Atlanta. Lived there for 13 years. I think it could go to a number of cities like Nola, Atlanta, Houston, Nashville. All these cities have NFL stadiums and it would make the fan experience better to visit different cities. Louisiana has gotten shafted by the conference when it comes to holding championship type events. SEC needs to shake it up, especially with expansion. Atlanta will be even more so in the far east geographically. Dallas could also vie to host once Oklahoma and Texas join.

It could rotate around several cities.
Dallas
Houston
New Orleans
Nashville
Atlanta

Houston
New Orleans
Nashville
Atlanta

I love the Superdome but Mercedes Benz Stadium is far nicer. And someone mentioned Houston or Dallas, that just feels wrong. That’s not SEC.

And it should be rotated. I’ve been saying this for years. Why should Georgia basically get a home game EVERY time they make the SECCG? There are too many other great venues in SEC Country to only utilize one of them.

LSU has played for 4 national championships in the Superdome

The new stadium in Atlanta is nice. I was there for the Peach bowl on 2019. Superdome is a dump

It’s not about the stadium.
It’s about the host city.
Atlanta sucks and no one wants to visit there.
New Orleans is party central and everyone wants to party here.

Agree. The Peach Bowl is played in Atlanta. What’s the issue?

I understand NOLA’s old reputation but now their travel slogan is pretty much Vax and Murder

This happened in Atlanta with LSU.
I don’t really care if it’s in Nola, just saying that’s not a good excuse not to since it happens and prob will happen again with Atlanta because the peach bowl is one of the big ones now.
shite it’s actually happened twice. We lost to uga in the ga dome then spanked Miami in the ga dome.

What has that got to do with the Sugar Bowl. Atlanta has the Chick Fil A bowl which has become a NY6 bowl and is hooked to the SEC.
SECCG and the Sugar Bowl are almost a month apart. With Texas and OU joining I could see the game rotating in Atlanta, NOLA, Hou/Dal. If Nashville had built a dome they could have some of that fun too...

It would make too much sense for the SEC to play in Atlanta in odd years and the ACC in even years.
