re: National Media: It is not Brian Kelly they hate. It is the south and LSU

I think there’s is a lot of SEC fatigue in the sports media and in the NCAA frankly. Lincoln Riley isn’t a fool. In the age of NIL and the portal, the old monied blue blood programs Like USC will soon start sopping up players from the south at the expense of the SEC (except for Bama and maybe TAM). Case in point: Eli Ricks.
CFB is a free agency game now, and the boosters with the most cash will get the players. I don’t think this was an accident. CFB wants to restore prominence to the non SEC Power 5 by buying Southern talent.

IMO they don’t necessarily hate the south and LSU, I think they actually just:
1) LOVE the Midwest/“classical midwest powers” like Michigan, OSU and ND
2) HATE the SEC for being better than the #1 this century
So as a result they’re just ultra nuclear shook about this because how could a coach who has been Tier fricking One at one of the premiere schools leave, without being fired or even remotely on the hot seat, for a school in the SEC?!? It’s not about LSU specifically or even the southern region (football aside) IMO.

When Whatsisname left Oklahoma, they were like "Well yeah...USC...Los Angeles." But when Kelly left 3 days later "This is everything wrong with the game."
Because ND is still in playoff contention.
Its amazing some of get bent out of shape with someone like Ryan Clark bringing up race but you have every bit the inferiority complex. Whining the media hates LSU and the South is no different than the "wokeness" so many of you deplore.

The national media can suck a dick. As can every AD, coach, agent, tv exec, etc.
They created this mess. They made this bed and now want to be shocked that they have to lay in it.

OU was still in (better) playoff contention when Riley was negotiating with USC. Unless you believe he just up and decided to move Sunday morning.
Let’s grow up. 95% of this “outrage” is fake shite because how the sausage is made is exposed a little.

It is strictly their disdain for LSU, SEC, and the south.
Alabama and Georgia are in the south. I don't see or hear the same disdain for those programs.

They don’t care about Lincoln Riley because it’s blue blood -> blue blood.
They hate Brian Kelly because it’s blue blood -> new blood.
No matter how much LSU wins this century we will always be considered a tier 2 program.

Better food
Better fishing
Better looking women
Better weather (except for the occasional Cat 4)
Better football
No wonder they don’t like us.

They don't have that character LSU coach to make fun of anymore, some they just degrade and bash the new coach that is articulate and structured. They lost their court jester and it hurts.

Go listen to Matt Leinart on Russillo try and differentiate Riley’s departure from Kelly’s.
The cognitive dissonance was astounding lol

People always resent new money. They perceive it as a threat to the good old boys club’s prestige.

It’s ALOS that he chose LSU over their god Notre Dame.

They hate us cuz they ain’t us. Look back at the BCS days. They couldn’t stand that it was SEC team playing every year. So they pushed for the playoffs. So what happened then? If continued to be a SEC team playing every year. They hate to see the SEC on top every year which is why they’re pushing the Cincinnati narrative so hard and the playoff expansion
