Without him we lose by more he hit a huge momentum HR.
re: 2 questionable moves by JJ today

Jay did not get out coached this game, I was questioning the quick pulls early but he trusted Hellmers longer than he normally would have, then Ack got us in position with 7-8-9 for our best pitcher all season. Jump just didn’t get the job done. I don’t think anyone thought this game would be as low scoring as it ended up being. Our boys just didn’t make enough plays to win.

If you want to know more about Napoleon you need to read Napoleon: A Life by Roberts. It’s lengthy but reads really well. Unlike other biographies Roberts had access to all Napoleon’s personal and official correspondence. After reading it I realized everything I was taught in school about him was mostly British propaganda.
He really did revolutionize military organization and his corps system is still used today. He made a number of political blunders mainly the “Continental” economic system. The biggest problem for him was the old monarchs were never going to accept him, they saw him as a peasant.

re: KJ Jefferson is NOT as good as we made him out to be.

I’m not saying we don’t have issues in the secondary, we definitely do, but Rogers threw for 487 yards this weekend. He only had over 103 against LSU. KJ played great, give credit where credits is due.

Oh I have done that a hundred times lol. On multiple devices, I can only get my phone app to work.

I’ve tried all the standard tricks that usually fix the issue. Deleted/reinstalled apps on all devices. It’s infuriating because I’ve had no issues all season until now.
Trouble with Directv streaming SECN+
Posted by NorfolkTiger on 5/13/23 at 7:34 pm
Is anyone else with Directv having issues streaming SECN+? I’ve had no trouble all season until the mid week game this week. I can’t stream on my TV, Fire Stick, or laptop but it works fine on my phone. Just curious if anyone else is having this problem.
re: SecNav:Climate Change Navy's Top Priority - Shrink Fleet
Posted by NorfolkTiger on 3/18/23 at 8:45 pm to blueridgeTiger
While this guy is an obvious moron, in a world with hypersonic missiles the Navy is somewhat obsolete. It’s hard to imagine but I heard from someone I served with that China could take out the entire Pacific Fleet in 30 minutes. A lot of brass get frustrated when they war game a Taiwan situation because the loss of assets and the casualties are mind blowing and we don’t win.
re: Desertion and Suicide surging in the Navy

I was talking to a pilot from VAW-117 a year or so ago. They had recently come back from deployment during COVID. They did a 10 month deployment, he said when they could port, all they could do was stand on the pier for a few hours and go back aboard. Anyone who has done a aircraft carrier deployment will tell you that is brutal. Not surprised first tour sailors want out after that crap.
I can’t excuse desertion though. Do your time and get out.

re: Im betting blanket citizenship for everyone before the mid terms, they will have the votes

I agree blanket open borders is bad, and I completely understand that a lot of the money filters back to Mexico. I don’t agree that they are taking jobs, most Americans are not going to get up and pick fruit for 12 hours a day. If they did, there would not be the eagerness for immigrant workers to come here. We benefit from that cheap labor quite a bit.
I think the Republican Party just assumes because a person is not a 50 year old white guy that a conservative message won’t work. I think if there was a more supportive message the perceived negative could turn into a positive. Just my opinion. I have been wrong many times on these macro issues lol.

Am I the only one who thinks immigration from Mexico is a good thing. They tend to be rural blue collar people. If the Republicans took an interest in them, I believe they could be a huge boost.
As far as assuming mass citizenship is going to help Dems, your assuming a majority of non English speaking people who have no understanding or commitment to our election process, are going to not only register to vote but show up as a voting bloc. I just don’t see it happening that way.

re: Is Joe Rogan really about Covid misinformation? Or is it about power?
Posted by NorfolkTiger on 1/31/22 at 12:09 pm to L1C4
This obsession with Rogan is insane at this point. Everyone wants to put him in a political camp and the show is by in large not a political show. All Joe does is long form interviews with his comedy friends, mma friends and people he finds interesting.
It’s obvious he pissed off some powerful people with the vaccine talk and now they want him to either shut up or be de-platformed. To call him a grifter or an in your face shock jock is just ridiculous, and shows that most people on PT do not watch the podcast.

re: Ryan Clark is not happy that we got "A middle aged white guy to coach our team"
Posted by NorfolkTiger on 12/2/21 at 5:47 pm to oldskule
He has gotten way out of hand. Which makes me kind of sad because when I was at LSU I worked at the Hibbets across from Traction; he came in often and was always nice to us.
I’m really curious who he would have been happy with? Mel Tucker got a raise as soon as the slightest rumor came up. Tomlin? ???? That was never happening. Who else out there has BK’s resume?

re: National Media: It is not Brian Kelly they hate. It is the south and LSU
Posted by NorfolkTiger on 12/2/21 at 5:20 pm to Rtowntiger
They don’t care about Lincoln Riley because it’s blue blood -> blue blood.
They hate Brian Kelly because it’s blue blood -> new blood.
No matter how much LSU wins this century we will always be considered a tier 2 program.

No jail time for sexual assault. What kind of sick judge gave that sentence.

re: How Powerful was Carlos Marcello?

He kicked out Al Capone and Frank Costello’s men trying to set up gambling in NO. That’s directly from Lucky Luciano’s biography. So he definitely had some major clout.
re: CNN Drops Rick Santorum After Racist Comments About Native Americans
Posted by NorfolkTiger on 5/22/21 at 3:46 pm to Cs
This is hilarious since a large part of our early political system was derived from the Iroquois. We also celebrate a cultural holiday every November thanking Native Americans for teaching us not to starve in the “New World”.

I say the owner has a net loss of $200.
Let's say the register had $200 to start.
If there was no theft and the owner sold $70 worth of inventory he would have a total of $270
With the robbery (200-100-70+70-30)= $70
-100 for initial theft
-70 for loss of groceries
+70 for the transaction
-30 change from stolen money
$270-70=$200

Most Navy folks hate it because the locals don't like/trust them. I was lucky to make a bunch of local friends and kind of down played being in the Navy, I wouldn't lie about but I never brought it up first lol a lot of local girls will not mess with sailors at all.

Like any place it has nice areas but the Naval Base dominates the town in general. Rent will probably be cheaper in Norfolk for when you first move there, but once you get settled look into Va beach and stay as far away from Newport News as possible lol.
