Gov. Josh Shapiro on Tuesday announced that Pennsylvania will become the 24th state to implement automatic voter registration.
In an interview on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Shapiro said everyone who goes to the Department of Motor Vehicles to get a new or renewed driver’s license will be automatically registered to vote, unless the individual chooses to opt out.
“It’s a safe, secure, streamlined way to get them to register and participate in our democracy,” said Shapiro, speaking on National Voter Registration Day.

So as a perk of getting a government ID you get registered to vote automatically…
… but requiring you to verify your identity with that ID when voting is unconstitutional

True. However what this does do is it means everyone who gets a driver’s license in PA , including illegal immigrants who get driver’s licenses will receive an unsolicited mail in ballot for each election.
What could possibly go wrong with this.

This is an end run around the requirement to be a citizen to vote in federal elections.
Once you grant ID, Driver's license, food stamps, Obamaphone, housing assistance, medical care, etc. it is only a matter of time until you end up on the voter rolls.

The problem here is it’s too easy to vote. Used to be the only people who voted were people who took time to learn the candidates and issues, because you had to plan to vote, and schedule time to show up.
Now - you have people voting because of a single issue that are easily swayed by media. And you hand them a ballot and make it simple.
That’s how you get propaganda to be effective.
