Donald Trump is President, who has absolute authority to declassify anything, keeps a few documents. The authorities hear about this, there is an ongoing legal dispute, and Trump puts an extra lock on a door to comply with their stipulations during the legal dispute. The documents are now stored behind 2 secure locked doors. Donald Trump gets indicted....
Joe Biden is a senator and vice president and has no authority to declassify anything. Documents are randomly found unsecured in his Center at a college. Days later they found in his unsecured garage at his home. A few weeks later boxes are found unsecured at another location. Joe Biden has exponentially more documents with no legal authority to have them. Joe Biden is not indicted or being charged with anything.
But Donald Trump is the facist in all of this? The entire political system is broken!

It's clearly hypocritical but if they really want a conviction it will be on the obstruction angle.
Also, I believe this will be tried in Florida, which gives Trump a major advantage over being tried in DC.

Accuse your enemy of what you are doing.

So.....any facts to back up that statement?

Leto doesn’t live in a world where facts matter.

Apparently the point of the leak the other day about the recording at MAL is that it "shows" he knew he had docs he didn't declassify.
Yet I'm still waiting for the official SOP document process as it seems every President before him was told it and the followed it to a tee.
For goodness sake Obama filled a storage warehouse with all he took, let's see the signed off process for all of that. Iirc be even legally locked it all down for X amount of yrs. In a nut shell...Trump is going to clean house over at the commie National Archive on day 1.

DOJ criminalized a Civil law. The Presidential Records Act has no criminal statue and says that a former President is entitled to all records he deems personal. That’s why all former Presidents have classified records i their possession. The obstruction would be born out of an illegal procedure of criminalizing a civil matter.

Oh that is rich coming from this crew
There is a process to declassify. Trump knows it and is on tape acknowledging it. I’m not even going into the obstruction.
He can’t wave a fricking Harry Potter wand and declassify. And why would he need them anyway if it weren’t for leverage or money?

I think this is what it ultimately boils down to. IF the Constitutional powers of the Commander and Chief give the President ultimate authority to declassify documents, which court precedent supports they do, then statute and rule about how the president should declassify documents are irrelevant.
