Supposedly he had copies of attack plans written by Milley against Iran.

As president the sole authority to declassify rests with him. He can delegate that authority, but ultimately even those delegated to the determination to declassify are reporting to the executive.

I was hanging out with some friends last night who were giddy that Trump got indicted. They were talking about a witness who will testify against Trump because he was the one Trump supposedly consulted with about taking the documents.
I said, “Did the same guy advise Hillary too?”
They just stared at me speechless.
There is a clear and obvious double standard going on here.

You conveniently skipped the next steps that trumps atty signed a letter stating all requested record were returned, and the kept ones were now properly stored. then when the feds found there were still missing docs, and alleged video of documents being moved pre and post raid, then another search found more documents.
Trump can't help himself. He wanted his keepsakes. He knew there were proper channels to go through, like Obama did, but chose not to. Cause Trump thinks the rules don't apply to him.
If he had returned all the docs when asked to, this is a non story. But he didn't, cause he's Trump, and he can't help himself.

And so far has nothing to do with the known charges. If any of the documents Trump had were related to national defense, and he knowingly obstructed in the governments retrieval of those documents, the classification status is irrelevant.

I think part of their problem is that they will have to stipulate that the document in question exists to begin with, then explain why Trump would want to keep a copy of it.
