Do you have a favorite chef?

I'm wondering who everyone's favorite chefs are. They don't have to be celebrity chefs, they could be restauranteurs or cookbook chefs.
I'll go first:
Justin Yu
Chris Shepherd
Karen Akunowicz
Joanne Chang
Paul Prudhomme
Mother & Father

Ditto. Love reading all of his cookbooks and the way he talks about cooking. I've never had a bad meal at any of his restaurants.

Such a difficult question to answer. Like favorite song or favorite band. It all depends on genre or cuisine in this situation.
Charlie Trotter was one of the first chefs that inspired me with his approach to New-American cuisine but, Thomas Keller turned the American culinary scene up to 11.
But, it's impossible to talk about either one of these chefs without mentioning Jeremiah Tower or Alice Waters or any of the other giants whose shoulders these chefs stand upon.

Haven't gotten to try her food but it's tough to not like Esther Choi after her Iron Chef showing.
I'd like to try one of her restaurants eventually

Years ago I liked to watch Jeff Smith "The Frugal Gourmet"
Yeah I used to like that show as well
I'll probably never know the truth about the molestation allegations but he's dead now anyway

I’ve always liked Donald Link for some reason. Enjoy his restaurants and his cookbooks are great too.
Also like Susan Spicer and Justin Devillier.
