Halfway Through Killers of the Flower Moon Review

Last night the wife (no pics) and I rented this movie and we made it to the halfway point before deciding we would finish it tonight. I will try not to give away any spoilers but want to give a general review of the first hour and 45 minutes or so.
The movie has been decent, good acting and a good story but the fact that we were able to stop halfway through kind of speaks for itself as far as it being a masterpiece and I think it has a lot to do with the pacing. Lots of unnecessary scenes that drive home the same point over and over without much action. And a lot of the action happens off screen.
Besides pacing, my main con is that all the women in this movie are hideous. Were the Osage known as grotesque people? Even if they were ugly in real life, its fricking Hollywood, just hire some attractive women to play the part. We can have a black cleopatra or Hispanic Snow White but we can't have an attractive Osage Indian?
I believe the first half of the movie is building to a crazy second half so I will report back tomorrow and let yall know what I think of the movie as a whole. I'm sure some of you will be dying to know my expert thoughts.

This was Molly and her sisters IRL

In the movie:

It's my understanding they wanted to utilize Indigenous folks for those roles.

What are your thoughts on Full Metal Jacket, out of curiosity?

Dear Hollywood,
Just give every female role to Megan Fox. I don't go to the movies to see women acting.

Who gives a review of half a movie?

the fact that you can turn it off half way through says a lot though.

You should be writing for Variety.

Yeah the mom from the blindside was ugly too but that didn't stop them from hiring Sandra Bullock.
There are plenty of attractive Native Americans that would also have loved the roles.
Just crazy to me that "anyone can play anyone" in movies but they draw the line at attractive native americans.
The main sister that bugs me is the slutty one. The girl looks like Shrek and I'm supposed to believe guys were leaping at the opportunity to get between her greasy arse legs?

The first half of full metal jacket was good, as was the whole movie. I'm not sure what that has to do with this thread though.

I started this thread mostly to complain that the women are ugly.

My point being there are literally no women in FMJ that I can remember, other than the Vietnamese girl at the end

I love movies reviews before the person watched the movie

Halfway through reading OP's post review:
It sucks arse.
Will update when I read the rest.

There doesn’t have to be hot women in a movie to make it good.
BUT
If you are gonna put women in a movie and have them be promiscuous, have them be attractive. I just don’t buy that the sister that looks like Andre the giant “gets around town.” She’s gross.
Also I get the idea that people wanted these women to get their money but that one sister was just sleeping around, not marrying anyone.

No one starts a halfway though a movie review thread and then incessantly complains about the attractiveness of the actresses unless they hit a weird fork in the road somewhere.

Her actual pic is posted above. Apparently, if you give an unattractive and promiscuous Indian woman in the middle of nowhere a constant flow of oil money, plenty of white boys will want to screw her.

This is a good point

I actually watched it in thirds, unintentionally, fell asleep but haven't watched the last 3rd yet.
I agree with the pacing & it isn't what I'm used to with a Scorsese movie. Alot of boring repetitive shite in it. I've never fallen asleep in one of his movies.
I guess reading the book ruined it a bit for me. It's much better than the 2/3 of the movie I've watched.
I'm not gonna read The Wager until after the movie. Maybe it'll be MS's next masterpiece. KOTFM was not that.

I read the book last year, watched the movie when it came out. Little slow but I sat through it. Wish more time was used to flesh out the undercover work.
