Christmas Vacation came out Dec 1, 1989. In the movie Clark discovers in the attic the old black and white film of their family's 1955 Christmas.
Clark was 34 years from that 1955 Christmas. We are now 34 years from Christmas Vacation.

Math isn’t really adding up, but I get the point. Thanks for making me feel old.
Edit: My math is bad, not yours. Still feel old.

Huh?
2023 - 1989 = 34
1989 - the film he watched from 1955 = 34
What math doesn't add up?

The last movie I saw in the theater with my dad. He busted a gut when Clark turned on the lights....

Saw it at Siegen. It's unbelievable how good it is. It takes me right back.
My favorite part for years has been when Eddie casually completely destroys that candle-driven wind chime with one finger. We had one of those when I was a kid!

The greatest XMas movie of all-time.

GOAT Xmas movie, reason being that the movie evolves as you age.

CSB incoming:
The first time I saw this movie, my family was at a Christmas Eve party at my aunt and uncle’s house. The party was pretty much over (around 9:00 or 10:00 o’clock) and we were about to leave. Christmas Vacation started on HBO and everyone just chilled out and watched it.
Don’t know if it was ‘89 or ‘90. Would it have been on HBO already the year it came out?

I like when he throws the 50 lb sack of dog food on top of the light bulbs Clark just put into the cart.

You're talking IRL. I gotcha. I thought you were referring to her age in the movie.
Yeah that's crazy that he's 80 now
