Apple TV raising price 43%

Just saw this in my email inbox. I went ahead and cancelled. I'll finish the shows on there I wanna watch before the first of the month and resubscribe to binge the next season of foundation.
It's strange to me that rather than hit you with a 10% or 20% price increases at a time, they think it is good marketing to raise things 40%+
Hopefully enough people unsubscribe that they will rethink the jump to $12.99-$15 they are already planning

I really wanted to try Apple TV but the app never worked for me on Roku. I got one movie to play and then got errors for literally everything else I tried to watch during my 3 month free trial. I tried everything I could think of outside of throwing out the already brand new Roku and getting another exact same Roku.
Couldn't imagine paying a dime for Apple TV at this point.

Not to mention the interface is worse than Prime and that’s saying something.

Damn. I use the roku 4k streaming stick and don't have problems.
My main issue is there aren't a lot of comedies on apple TV. It is mostly dramas. I love ted lasso and foundation, but didn't really stick with anything else. Started severence and made it to season 2.

No horror content, either.

Glad it’s bundled with my Verizon plan.

I thought we would watch it more than we actually have. Only thing is The Morning Show and it's gone to shite for me so I don't think we will miss it much.

You didn’t think that the increased cost of the strike was going to be absorbed by companies did you?
Everyone should expect much more of this moving forward.

Anyone who couldn't see a raise in all streaming services that would eventually all cost more than what you used to pay with cable was fooling themselves. They were playing us all for a fool. Now instead of paying all money to one we are spread out paying a ton of money here and there until we have less and pay more, just like cable was in the past.

I subscribe to most of my stuff through apple TV because I love the interface on the Roku

Best interface of all of them IMO. The catalog obviously isn't the best but I love the interface. Definitely the cleanest look and user friendly. Hulu being the absolute worst by a mile. Cancelled my Hulu/Disney/ESPN+ because the content sucked overall but also because of how crappy the interface was. It used to be good a few years ago but then with the redesign it's like they got together and said "Ok how can we make this as dumb as possible?"

Well, there's only been one season so far.

What? It's practically impossible to tell which title is selected.
Ted Lasso was the only thing worth watching in our experience.

I had apple for a while to watch Foundation and For All Mankind.
They made a disappointing mess with Foundation and the beginning of FAM was pretty good then they turned it into a woke sex soap opera .
I bailed on apple TV , never coming back.
