Everything old is new again, so it isn’t surprising that streaming service Paramount+ would go back into its library of hit series for a reboot. And, boy, did they pick a winner with Frasier, which received 107 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, with 37 wins, in its 11 seasons on NBC.

“I gleefully anticipate sharing the next chapter in the continuing journey of Dr. Frasier Crane.” said Kelsey Grammer when the reboot was announced.

Frasier premieres its first two episodes of a 10-episode season on Thursday, Oct. 12 exclusively on Paramount+. New episodes will then drop weekly on Thursdays, exclusively on Paramount+. For those who don't subscribe to Paramount+, CBS will broadcast a special airing of the first two episodes on Tuesday, Oct. 17 beginning at 9:15 p.m. ET/PT.

What will the Frasier reboot be about?
The new series follows Frasier Crane in the next chapter of his life as he returns to Boston with new challenges to face, new relationships to forge, and an old dream or two to finally fulfill. Frasier has re-entered the building!

"He's our brave little soldier that continues on in life, finding new challenges and a new love and new people and a new city and stuff like that," Grammer told People. "I'm really very excited about it, and we'll certainly always honor the past. We have to honor the fact that John Mahoney died and that Martin is no longer with us. We'll be dealing with that for sure."

David Hyde Pierce will not be joining Grammer in the Frasier reboot.

Trailer in link.

My wife and I rewatch frasier at least once every year or so. Can't wait.

This puts a significant damper on things

I’d expect there’s a difference in not joining the cast and not being involved in some capacity.

It’s not like Niles was going to move his family to Boston.

Not sure how they’ll handle the cheers people.

Cliff and Norm are either dead (Cliff murdered, Norm heart attack) or they are still crawling into Cheers every night. That would just be sad.

John Mahoney was the best part of that cast, and that's saying something. Hate that he's no longer with us.

Frasier is the GOAT spin off. Hopefully this does not disappoint.

Every year or so... I can't remember how often, but we've watched it in completion 3 or 4 times since we've been together, which is now 12 years. So every 3 years. Why are y'all so concerned about this?

The blooper video of Mahoney not being able to keep it together when Niles had the shaving cream explode is so dang funny.

I like that it's "at least" once per year too

Now I'm giggling thinkign about this guy just having Frasier constantly on loop in his house non stop. Anytime someone comes over they ahve to watch Frasier. If someone comes over to watch a big sporting event they have to watch it on a laptop propped on the living room table becaus ethey have to keep Frasier on mute on the big screen

I’ll watch, but I was really okay without this. Frasier is far and away my favorite TV series. We used to watch two episodes every night when Hallmark played it at 10.

That's an understatement. The contrast between Martin, Frasier, and Niles that made Frasier somehow seem like the normal one, when he clearly wasn't your average American, was the bulk of the humor on that show. And they were masterful at executing that formula.

Five full days, 12 hours, and 30 minutes

That's how long it takes to rewatch Frazier.

If you have rewatched it 4 times that is 22 days and 2 hours straight.

If you watched for 16 hours a day it would take you 33 days and 3 hours to watch it.

That ends up being a little over 1% of your total waking relationship time being devoted to Frazier.

Now do The West Wing, I have seen that 13 times

To be fair A LOT of that time was it just playing as background noise while I was doing something else.

I re-watch Frasier every year at work. It's my all time favorite. I'll give this a shot, but reboots just don't seem work IMO. Plus no Niles and Marty
