I understand it’s a movie but he didn’t really get hit. He just flips in the air more than anything.

Towel boy on The Waterboy took a better hit

From the time he “wakes up” it is cringey as hell. One of the worst scenes ever. Dumb beyond belief.

It’s a little hokey but that’s Cameron Crowe for you.

I love it, but maybe not for the reasons that would make it a "good movie."

We live in a cynical world, a cynical world, and we post on a message board of tough critics.

I love Jerry McGuire. It completes me.

Like most movies from the era, it's first and foremost, a love story. It's a love story within the game of football. Good for a date, but not very re-watchable.

Paid just enough attention to know it was very fake looking football. All of it was fake feeling. The only realistic scenes were the meetings the divorced women had.

More re-watchable than say, "Singles" ... but doesn't hold up like "Almost Famous".

I doubt that they shot that end zone catch practically .... looks like manipulated real game footage.

The only part that should bother you is how they shite on Clarence Thomas to keep alive a vicious lie on his character.

But it’s a terrible love story. None of the characters supposedly in loving relationships are very likable. The idea that Jerry and whatshername would fall in love with each other is just not believable. I was more convinced that Jerry fell in love with whatsername’s kid and was just using the kid’s mom for convenient access.

Jerry was rich enough to be hooking up with much younger tail and he had the a-hole personality that could easily achieve that goal. Whatshername was just a meek bore with no redeeming qualities. A 4 at best. Jerry should be pulling 8s or higher with the capacity for settling for 7s (but no lower) on slow nights.

Instead, Jerry loved children, and that message was loud and clear.

Kelly Preston getting railed and saying “Never stop fricking me!” makes that movie rewatchable 1000% of the time.

Singles is great if you want to time-travel.

I mean that is a time-capsule movie of early 90's...

And music and clothes and the way films were made. The era is so omnipresent in your face that you can't escape it...and now can be off-putting if you weren't a fan of the early 90's cultural ethos.

But it's still a good movie...but its weird watching it now.

Jerry MaGuire is awesome. May be the GOAT chick flick honestly (since it’s cleverly disguised as a sports movie).

As for football hits, the one in Not Another Teen Movie is pretty brutal:

I was actually pretty indifferent to the movie, but I rolled with a stream of consciousness take that I found mildly amusing in hopes it might generate a chuckle or two from others.
