Yeah but how many of those MLB parents got to go to the Bucees in Robertsdale AL on the way to AND FROM Orange Beach for tournaments?

I’d like to see the survey data on that.

Yes but I need to drop upwards of 80 grand over a 10 year period to have any chance of my son getting a full scholarship (quarter tuition and half books) worth $25k.

Not all select baseball teams and/or parents are created equal. Definitely a ton who fit the stereotype, but not most. I’ve found soccer and lacrosse families are far worse than baseball. They travel all over the state and country for tournaments every weekend.

Don’t hate Ryno. How old is your kid? Do I need to recruit him yet?

There is a lot of insecure parents on here just because some parents have better kids.

So should travel parents not allow their kids to play? Should they not be proud of their kids' accomplishments? I'm not a travel parent fyi. Just don't get people's beef. It's not something you should care about.

This is absolutely true. Why I've elected to move my kid to the Dominican Republic rather than play travel ball. Quality of life isn't great, but he's much more likely to make it in the big leagues.

If your goal joining a private team is to have your kid make it in baseball as a career....you're going to be VERY VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED!

For the record, my son played 6 years of private league baseball and that statement means 0 to me....ZERO! Wouldn't trade those 6 years for anything!

I think the majority of people laughing at the travel ball foolishness don’t have kids

Because travel ball parents are a special lot. It's like the little league dad who tries way too hard to live vicariously through his son, but on steroids.
