Covid BS at work again

I do consulting in a long term care facility. We had 30+ deaths back in April/may 2020 and since then really are back to normal, “expected” numbers (that sounds awful but …)
ANYWAY, an employee “felt bad” and was tested somewhere and was Covid positive.
HERES THE bullshite: now all employees have to test — and if they’re positive they have to go home WITHOUT PAY FOR 5 DAYS. They used to be able to go into negative pto but the company doesn’t allow that anymore.
SO .. staff that already has sucky pay (think CNAs and kitchen staff but nurses as well) who show up consistently and work their asses off have to go home without pay …
And the staff and residents that are “positive” have at the most the sniffles if that.
Residents don’t have to mask
Visitors don’t have to mask
Employees have to wear N95.
This is so beyond ridiculous .. I’m there one day a week and can deal with it and but feel for those who are fine but “test positive”.
Edited to add — I survived 2 separate 30 days noticed due to not taking the vaccine and survived with a religious exemption that they didn’t even question. SMH. I’m one of the very very few without the shot.

Wear a condom on your head

Imagine going through that bullshite buffet and sticking around for seconds.

Get a better job like the guy who drives the recycle man truck

Soap bars in a bag party for the original dummy that tested.

I don't think it's over exaggerating to say that should be illegal. I can't see how it's legal for you to restrict someones income like that.

I truly feel for people that don't have the means to readily switch jobs when faced with bullying like this

Lol my job is so easy and I’m well paid for it. I’ve considered leaving many, many times but I love my little people.
I’ll also add that I’ve noticed that no one monitors employees when they test themselves. Infer what you wish.

That’s messed up especially how these places bill the shite out of Medicare

Read about the effects of these after wearing them for an hour. Not good.

If this bullshite starts again, I’m going to test myself every day and sell the negative results.

I have no idea. Since I’m contract I don’t ask many questions but I can say that it all makes me irrationally angry. Like so so irrationally angry.

This makes no sense. Even if the geniuses running your outfit believed masks work, why wouldn't they make visitors and patients wear them.
They are taking flawed logic and flawwing the shite out of it some more.

Sue.
Or put out your resume and encourage all your coworkers to do the same.

Right? Thisnis part of why I’m irrationally angry and the words that left my mouth yesterday in disbelief are not nice words.

Oh I’m sure some are looking.

Well, I can see a very small minority of people having none due to emergency circumstances. But the vast majority of people should still have some PTO at the beginning of September.
If not, that's on them...

Simple solution is to never get tested and submit a fabricated negative test result. Worst case scenario they find out and chew you out. You've been chewed out before.
Reality is they simply don't care, as long as they have the box checked.
