Thugs were stealing arms full of merch from a Lululemon store so employees videoed it and called police. Lululemon fired them for it.

Meanwhile, you have stores like Target who are getting horrible press for leaving these areas.

There's nothing to sue for. As stupid as this firing is, you can't sue someone for firing you because they felt like it. Best they can do is collect unemployment.

I honestly feel like such a dumb a-hole for always paying for my lululemon. If only I had known it was free the entire time.

It seems like we're heading in a direction where more and more retail moves online. We'll become a nation of warehouses.

i’d bet within a decade, grocery stores offer 2 options, curbside and drop off.
the days of ‘browse shopping’ are coming to an end. We’ll all be punished based on the actions of a few and those who excuse it.

This is happening everywhere except for high income/favorable demographic areas where “experiential” retail will become a status symbol.

Sadly, a lot of retailers have that policy. I want to say something similar happened to a guy at Home Depot not long ago. I understand encouraging employees to not physically intervene because of what could happen to the employee but firing them for videoing it and calling police is just stupid.
But they’re doing it because they don’t want it known that folks are stealing shite left and right to protect their “brand”.

We'll be hearing about "retail deserts"

What do the people look like who are stealing?

Can’t wait for the day I’m in a store and someone tries to steal. Will form tackle

Is this their corporate policy?

I foresee a "Everything is 100% off" sale for Lululemon.

Doesn't work anymore when there are no consequences for theft anywhere in today's America.
