John Urschel was drafted in the 5th round by the Ravens and played for three years as a guard. He retired in 2017 to pursue a PHD at MIT. Talk about reverse CTE.

Good for him would be my comment. Made some money and got out.

That headline is goofy because it implies he was a CFL player but he is in fact a former NFL offensive lineman who is from Winnipeg. I don't think he ever played in the CFL.

say what y'all want, but that story of Rolle interviewing for the Rhodes Scholarship in the morning and then flying to play in a game at Maryland that afternoon is pretty impressive.

I'm sure he's pretty happy with the way his life worked out...wife is a pediatric dentist and I'm sure they live very comfortably.

I like hearing good stories about former players vs. hearing them getting arrested for domestic violence or some other kind of crime

John Frank was a pioneer. Super Bowl with the 49ers then became a doctor.

At least this guy did it. I remember when Robert Smith got a lot of hype for considering turning down the NFL to go to medical school but he never did. In fact he stuck around football as a commentator when his career ended

Never played in a game
John Urschel played in 40, started 13. Believe he retired on his own terms, might have been able to play more.
