The 1970 home game against Ole Miss was one of the best go to hell ole miss games ever. I was a student and hundreds of students brought hundreds of oranges to the game. Archie Manning was the ole miss quarterback (playing with a broken wrist.) The LSU defense began to get to Archie and the landslide began. The Tigers put up 61 points and the students threw oranges at Archie the entire second half. I'm talking thousands of oranges hitting the field. It was a once in a lifetime site to see. The win over ole miss meant a trip to the Orange bowl. Final score LSU 61 Ole Miss 17 and Jack Daniels 100.
