When a coach not even halfway through the season is mentioning players from last year trying to justify why we suck so bad is concerning. Dude named just about every player we lost from last years defense to justify the struggles. That’s not what you want your head coach saying.

And it wasn’t like that defense was great either.

sure players make mistakes, get beat and fail to execute at times. it is football. but what we are seeing goes far beyond that. there is no excuse for this coaching garbage.

LSU is one of the more experienced teams in the SEC.

Something is just wrong.

Long very long. This group looks to be divided . Defense is so bad it is hard to believe we are that down on talent

we still go 9-3 to 10-2....it will be worst defense ever at LSU with the 2nd best offense. Just accept how bad our defense is and we will just have to be like Oregon of old the rest of the way

So my question to all the "BK has shitty answers" people:

What answer could he give that would make you happy?

If he says we lost good players and couldn't replace them then he can't recruit and he's an idiot.

If he says this years players aren't playing well enough then he's throwing them under the bus and he's an idiot.

If he says that the coaching needs to improve then he can't pic good coaches and he's an idiot.

So what would make you happy?

The answer that he's given is the only true answer: We need to coach the guys we have better and the guys we have need to play better because even marginal improvement on defense would be good enough to win the remainder of the games with the offense that we have.

When one of your primary jobs is to tackle people, how can you do such a poor job of tackling people?

He could own up to his poor decisions. That would be a start.

Instead he will continue to sit up there and be smug

In the secondary? Absolutely not.

Maybe next year if we have Denver Harris, JK Johnson, Ashton Stamps, & Laterrance Welch at CB

Defense needs a leader to step forward. Holly Rowe talked about how she was on sidelines between series and they all sat down in silence with their heads down. No one talking or communicating. Someone needs to get their arse up and light a fire in that sideline.

Eh somewhat true but I also vividly remember JaCoby Stephens lighting everyone up on the sideline of the 2020 Mississippi State game, they all got up, went right back on the field, and got shredded again.

Which decisions would you like him to own up to?

You want him to say he hired a bad DC? Cuz then you will tell me that means he doesn't know what he's doing and he's passing the buck and scapegoating the DC.

You want him to say he recruited bad players? You will say he's throwing the players under the bus and ignore the fact that he had to piece together the entire defense 2 years in a row because of hw bad O left this roster.

Not to mention he has mentioned multiple times that the coaching hasn't been good enough and needs to better. Do you really not think he includes himself in those assessments?

Don’t go and bring logic and reason into this season long melt.

I honestly don’t believe he thinks that of himself.

And yes he has done a poor job of recruiting. The roster was poor when he received it, but since then he has done a poor job filling that gaps. We have zero DL talent coming in, and limited DBs. Because he can’t get those guys he keeps having to go to the portal and get second class players from small schools who can’t perform at the necessary level.

Yes his DC hire was poor if he can’t put up a better defensive effort than Tulane did with their athletes. You’re going to tell me GA tech and Tulane have better players?

Yes he has made some baffling game management decisions. And he just ignores it.

But no he will just give the same candy arse response

You're wasting your time. There is now answer you or Kelly could give that would suffice. The defense only needs to get moderately better, and quick, for this team to make a serious run.
