Watched the Miss State/Arizona game last night. Thoughts:

State has an aggressive defense that is good, but not great. They’re tough up front, and their LB’s are good. DB’s will give up some plays, but they are aggressive ball hawks.
On Offense, they like to establish the run. If we can shut down the run, it’ll be a tough night for State. Their RB’s run hard and rarely go down on first contact. We have to tackle well.
Arizona turned the ball over 5 times in the game, and their QB threw 3 picks in the 1st Quarter. They fumbled early in the 2nd Quarter, and were down 14-0 very quickly. The fact that they forced Overtime with all of the turnovers shows that State doesn’t have the ability to put teams away.
State had trouble all night with a mobile QB, so Daniels should have opportunities with his feet. Ultimately, I think if our D-line can stuff the run and our offense can avoid turnovers, we will be able to wear them down and win handily, but if they can run, it’ll be a close game.

State's HC also dropped an F-Bomb in his post game interview with Cubelic. That's all I got.

I find it crazy they didn’t use Will Roger’s arm more. Game looked severely underwhelming

I can get down with that

We are favored by 10 on the road for a reason. I expect a two TD win

Rogers is a good not great veteran QB. If we screw around and blow a couple of assignments he will see it.
If we let him make a couple of plays it’s going to be really uncomfortable.
Key in my eyes is pressure on QB.

He seems like a douchebag that isn't ready for an SEC head coaching job. I think State rushed to keep the Leach legacy alive but this guy's days are numbered IMHO.

i’d like to see our DL be Smith Jefferson Wingo.
would definitely give us the bodies to help slow down the run

Unless Arnett is an idiot, MSU will throw a lot more Saturday.

They are ranked in the triple digits in passing.

If he doesn't let Rogers chunk it all over the field he's not watched any LSU tape. I really hope they don't sleep walk into this one but who am I kidding

Do you think our corners can play press coverage on MSU's WRs?

They will definitely use his arm more against us.

I predict a win, but Will Roger's will look like a Heisman candidate against us.

Great. So that means Perkins in the middle...

I watched the State/SELU game and was not overly impressed with State and their offense. They eventually wore down SELU, but the passing game wasn't unstoppable. It was their 1st game so they may have improved.

That’s what I don’t understand. It’s one thing to change strategy with Mike Leech passing away. But you have to work with what you have at least a little bit. You cannot go from air raid to power run team unless you gut the whole roster, which they didn’t do.

Doesn’t bode well for us.

Things that worried me:
1. Refusing to utilize Rogers more, especially when it became apparent Arizona was looking for the run. Rogers was effecting in what little passing he did.
2. Leaving the flats wide open all night. LSU will exploit this.
3. LaFleur was not contained or spied. Was allowed to create far too many opportunities with his legs for chunk play on the ground and in the air. Daniels is cut from the same cloth.
I'm wishfully thinking that Arnett and Barbay are trying to hold something back for this weekend, but I'm afraid I'll see more of the same.
State needs to:
1. Not be afraid to put the game in Rogers' hands. 17 attempts is just dumb; get some balance. I really don't believe they are going to stick with such a run heavy approach all season unless they are just running over the opposing team. Hope I'm not wrong.
2. Take some chances and get some pressure on Daniels. He'll eat us alive like laFleur did otherwise.
As for Arnett's ascension, that was to maintain stability, in my opinion. Leach was hardly cold in the ground and other programs were looking to poach players. I don't have a problem with move, or getting Barbay, but it remains to be seen if it was the right move for the long term.
