His pitching decisions are puzzling at best.

It’s almost like this game has no bearing on the rest of the postseason…

Maybe he knows what he has with Guidry and he wanted to see exactly what he has with everyone else going into the games that really matter.

It’s almost like he wanted to get his pitchers work and then get home to rest

At that point, he was playing for the weekend. Guidry was needed to go long tomorrow or Sunday. Just didn’t work out. He always thinks the long game.

I've been told all year the questionable pitching management has been JJ figuring out what is and isn't going to work for the postseason.

We'll find out if that was true or not in 7 days.

To be honest, I think a lot of it was to finalize the bullpen going into the postseason that really matters.

This weekend gave us a final look what arms we can trust, to stretch out a bit if needed, and which ones we’d only use truly if needed

At least he knows who he can't count on...

If this was experimental during a meaningless tournament, fine. This has been this way all year

Must have been a fluke the 2 times he took Arizona to Omaha.

You assholes are the worst melting posters in the history of the rant.

You nailed it man, when it’s this early in the season you have to experiment and find who you can trust

If it were a normal game Floyd wouldn't have come out. You're ability to realize what this tournament actually was in puzzling. It was a weekend that meant absolutely nothing. Get some guys some work. Stay healthy. Get home. That was the goal. The season starts next weekend. I honestly think they got bored towards the end of the year waiting for regional play. Relax and enjoy your weekend. They'll be just fine.

Dutton is garbage. That’s not a melt take. It’s a fact.

Saying shite like this is so annoying. So he should just coach like the game doesn’t matter? Should the players play like the game doesn’t matter too? Y’all act like playing well going into the postseason isn’t important, and it definitely is.

It’s almost like…the only way for a player to improve is to put him in situations where said player can be successful.
Jay was asking him to get outs.
Dutton has done it in the past.
Dutton did not execute.
Move on and improve.

I think he was bringing in pieces to watch, and wanted to give coleman a few pitches before next week. Guidry will come in to close and Cooper, and Ack looked really good.

If we got to tomorrow we would have been to Little, and Money. We all know how that would go.

I realize this. Situationally though this decision was horrible. Bringing in Dutton who is garbage vs Guidry who has better stuff has zero bearing. It’s lazy to say playing for the next game in the tournament vs saying getting ready for regionals. Bringing in Guidry is the right call if this is the mindset.

This board's pitching "coaches" are undefeated this season.
