What a joke college football has become since 2019

So he passed up an almost certain starting spot on a contender to go to Auburn. This had to be all about money.

You think a desperate AU program led by St, Hugh tampered?
No way,
No way,

It really has. The “student” athlete controls all of the cards now. They get a free ride to school. They get NIL deals. Many get paid under the table in addition to a legitimate NIL deal. They control the bidding war that goes on between schools vying for their commitment (a word that should be banned in the recruiting world for good). And, if things don’t go well they get to quit and give another “commitment “ to a new school. And even if things go well, a coach still has to recruit the player to stick around.
There is nothing amateur about college sports anymore (not that there ever was for the best players coming from high school) but never have the coaches and universities had less control once a player has signed with a school.

4. Auburn (On To Victory)
On To Victory began its quest in July of 2022 to "be the voice of our donors and of our Auburn Family and assist them in forever changing the lives of our student-athletes." OTV has been confirmed to have raised over $12 million in revenue. According to the website, 90% of the profit goes to Auburn student-athletes.

Yep, it’s basically wholesale free agency without any real lock up period.

It’s great news that he was able to resolve his personal issues so quickly. I was worried that he was really having some serious issues as suggested by our “insiders.”

So it only became a joke after Burrow transferred to LSU?
Is it also a joke that LSU got Harris from aTm and Anderson from Bama?

Is this where we all tell him good luck?

This is a bad look with how depleted we are at LB. We better have someone in mind to replace

Will you morons please stop acting like this is the same thing?

Harris was suspended multiple times at aTm and needed a change of scenery. Anderson was away from home and wanted to come to the team he was once committed to.
Tolan played a ton as a true freshman and had a spot locked up and was in great standing with the coaches/program. He was straight up tampered and poached off our roster by a program that’s been dropping bags since Freeze showed up.
These aren’t even close to the same.

Burrow graduated and was not in line to start for Ohio state.

I can’t understand why people still try to compare a grad transfer to this new free agency. You’d think people would realize these are apples to oranges, but still people cry “but but but Burrow!”

Burrow spent three years at Osu and was a grad transfer. Totally different.

So we make excuses for why kids transferring to LSU is the right thing to do, and pretend it's different for kids transferring out. Got it.

If a coach can do it, so can a player.
