This isn’t a gotcha moment like you think it is

Not meant to be a "gotcha" moment. The point I am making is that LSU has benefited as much, or more, than any other team in college football from the transfer portal. This year's LSU team isn't even a bowl team without it, and we have the #1 transfer class currently. So you can't kick and scream when a player leaves LSU, but ignore the successes LSU has had because of incoming transfers. The mental gymnastics going on from people trying to justify incoming transfers, while in the same breath, shitting on a kid leaving LSU (or giving their displeasure with all of college football) is dumb.

You are easily one of the dumbest posters this board has. You are throwing boulders from inside a glass house my dude.

You are the joke. Those players transferred to get playing time. Tolan was already set to start

Was he? Penn pretty much played over him all yr.

Maybe they promised him a for sure starting spot and nil.

Crazy that lsu's insiders never know what's going on.

Yeah, I disagree with your Burrow comment and think it’s not apples to apples but that guy is the most reactionary moron on this board by a lot.

It’s great news that he was able to resolve his personal issues so quickly. I was worried that he was really having some serious issues as suggested by our “insiders.”

Shea wouldn’t get specific, but he is still saying there was some kind of issue that started him looking to make a move. Tampering happens, but we don’t know that’s the reason Tolan initially started looking at leaving. I’m going to take Shea’s word over yours or anyone else here’s.

Denver Harris get tampered with to or was everything legit there?

Possibly, but with the trouble he brought on himself while at A&M, he was likely leaving no matter what. His situation may actually be a parallel to Tolan though, other than the fact that Harris’ problems were public and whatever is up with Tolan isn’t.

And then he closed with a below .500 season before getting himself fired. His recruiting also fell off toward the end.

Tolan played a ton as a true freshman and had a spot locked up and was in great standing with the coaches/program. He was straight up tampered and poached off our roster by a program that’s been dropping bags since Freeze showed up.

You are oversimplifying. Tolan played a ton on special teams, but only played a depth role behind Penn and Weeks at LB. Perkins is the unquestioned star the position here, as well. Tolan would have had a chance to pass Penn up over the Spring, but he wasn’t guaranteed.

Also, you should note that Tolan didn’t play ANY defensive snaps in the A&M and UGA games. He was on special teams only. Based on the way he seemed to be trending upward before that, do you really think that didn’t indicate that SOMETHING was up with him?

They might move Perkins to ILB is another reason why we might not be seeing LSU with urgency at LB right now. They'll probably just wait and see what's in spring. Pushing for a more 4-2-5 means you need less LBs anyway.

You’re the dumbest poster.

This Down syndrome hand thought Joe Burrow’s transfer and Tolan’s transfer were the same thing. I remember my first day watching college football.

True, but they still could really use some more experience there. I know Penn has a bunch, but that’s because he was forced to play before he was really ready due to lack of depth.

Weeks looked really good during the ASG this weekend and it’s great that he’s an EE. Still, it would be best to not have to force him on the field until he’s ready. At least 1 more ILB with experience would give us that.

Based on the job they’ve done in the secondary, I fully trust this staff to take care of LB the right way.

I agree. I think people make freeze out to be better than he really is. He’s a good offensive coach but some people act like ole miss was a juggernaut with him. They never were competing for titles while he was there, and his biggest accomplishment is beating bama twice.

Hookers aside, people are stupid if they think that's why kids committed there anyway, Freeze was a legit up and coming coach. In 2014 he beat Saban and finished with a 9-3 regular season. That year he had the #1 scoring defense in the country. In 2015 he finished 9-3 again this time winning his bowl game to go 10-3. He beat Saban again with a different QB and had the #8 scoring offense in the country.

One thing Ole Miss hasn't been able to get since he's been gone is receiver talent. Yeah I know people will say what about Drummond and Moore, well they are good, but Freeze got starting NFL guys. DK Metcalf, AJ Brown, Evan Engram, Van Jefferson. He also got other highly rated WRs from high school like Demarkus Lodge, Markell Pack, and LaQuon Treadwell.

Freeze was able to get these kids to Ole Miss and now with NIL, and a much better place in Auburn, he'll do it again. Again, hookers are not why kids committed to Ole Miss.

He also mismanaged his roster toward the end at Ole Miss and didn’t make great follow-up hires when guys left. Longo was terrible as his OC. Again, his last season he was below ,500, and that was before any probation or other troubles. People dismiss that because of how he started, but it still matters.

What also matters is that Freeze is arrogant as frick and is incredibly thin skinned, which is a bad combo for an SEC head coach. Not only was he stupid enough to line up escorts on a school-issued phone, but he also kept getting into media and Twitter battles over incredibly stupid shite. His posts thumbing his nose at the NCAA during their investigation did nothing but provoke them further. He actually got into public arguments with recruits and others after guys de-committed or committed elsewhere. What other SEC coach do you know who does things like this?

You would think Freeze would have wised up about this kind of thing, but there he was DMing girls who made complaints about the AD at Liberty within the last year. Whatever you may or may not think of that, it still shows a pattern of arrogance and lack of awareness. He’s a constant PR nightmare and he evidently hasn’t learned shite while off in Siberia.

It doesn’t matter how much success Freeze has on the field. Just watch- he’s going to frick it all up at some point.

He is a joke & one of these supposed LSU fans who always has to try to point fingers at LSU and acts like some type of “moral compass” for LSU and LSU fans.

It doesn’t matter which other team or coach it is he will always attempt to point out LSU’s flaws by using any ridiculous comparison he can. He will act like he is an LSU fan but he isn’t and this board is infested with fake fans just like him.

Well, “Brother Freeze” did hire Hookers and they were used for recruiting purposes. You are very naive.

Everyone on here loves transfer portal when its us getting a transfer from Alabama, etc. But it is a joke when we lose one of our players.

If its best for the player, so be it. It isn't all about you lmao

Look at the first post on this page. I understand that you are dumber than a box of rocks, but I didn't say Burrow and Tolan transferring was the same thing.
