Mike Scarborough brought up something with Jacques Doucet regarding Walker Howard

Scarborough told Doucet that Walker has been on scout team all year and that they don’t practice on the same field as the team. He said Walker doesn’t want to go through that another year and Walker and his family just wants a fair shot for second string if Daniels and Nuss are back next year.

Do these kids not understand that when they come to a school, there are other players there? Most every freshman qb not starting in the country probably ran scout this year. This isn’t mistreatment.

JD5 got a fair shot as a freshman at ASU. He won it outright because he was best.
All this to say that Walker Howard AT THIS POINT is not the best this team has to offer. If he was CBK would have him start.
Do you think CBK isn't capable of QB evaluation?

How would he pass up Nussmeier? Neither of them have played and Kelly called Nussmeier 1B in the preseason as a freshman.
I don't understand how you guys just delete Nussmeier from the program. Last I checked he's still on the roster.

I find it hard to believe that we have a scout team practicing separate from the rest of the team. That would be a legitimately retarded thing to do.

Well that clears up a lot and honestly Howard isn’t going anywhere. The way I see it is.
1- JD declares and GN and WH Duke it out for starter but probably be GN
2- JD stays and WH wins the backup and GN transfers
3- All 3 stay (Highly unlikely)

Pretty terrible state of college football when no QB wants to be anything other than a starter or the backup by their redshirt freshman season. But this is the new normal

Yeah that doesn’t make sense. He can’t be requesting a redshirt going into the season and expect to be running with the 1’s and 2’s in practice.

We cannot be held hostage by players on our team. If he leaves that just has to be his decision. We will be fine and bring in a proven player who has a year or two under their belt already at the college level.

Separate from the rest of the offense not from the entire team. The scout team runs the other teams plays against the defense.
It’s not out of the ordinary for your 3rd string QB to be the scout team QB.

This is what the transfer portal can do. It gives and it takes away. Honestly I think Nuss has more to lose than Walker right now if JD comes back. But if they are hearing that Nuss and JD are coming back I could see Walker looking around.
