and reform of LHN.

The University of Oklahoma is considering remaining in the Big 12, but only in a “reformed” version of the conference that includes hard and fast rules for Texas' Longhorn Network and removal of Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe, a high-ranking Big 12 source told The Oklahoman on Tuesday.

Damn.OU bringing the wood.

The Big 12 had a "real" commissioner, Kevin Weiberg. He wanted to make a Big 12 network with equal revenue sharing. Texas didn't like that idea and drove him off (this was apparently a major reason that Nebraska started looking east). Beebe is in that job because Texas wanted a puppet and got one. OU would be foolish to think that Texas would ever allow anything approaching equality in that conference.

That is a powerful article. OU is calling Texas and its puppet Beebe out!

I wonder why it has taken so long for any other Big 12 member to call for the Beebe puppet head.

Oklahoma just drug their nuts all across Texas

See, now this is very interesting. Baylor, who has been UT's bitch, wants so desperately to keep the Big 12 together, this will essentially force their powerful political figures to put the heat on UT. Smart move by OK to do this. Makes UT out to be the villian, rather than those leaving.

My favorite quotes in the piece:
quote:
The source said Beebe made the decision that appeasing Texas was the Big 12's best hope for stability. “He made the wrong decision,” the source said. Instead, that led to instability, with the departure of Nebraska and now A&M.
The source said Big 12 presidents view Beebe as a commissioner serving only one school, Texas. They lay Nebraska's departure in June 2010 at the feet of Beebe.

Oh, I think that Dodds, Chip Brown, and others were already making them look silly with the "Texas to the ACC!" trial balloon bullshite.
This is more along the lines of letting everyone know that Nebraska and A&M were exactly right on what's happened with the league.
