I still say Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma and maybe OSU will decide to join the SEC. It makes no sense other then money for them to join the PAC 10. And I don't think money will over come what the fans of Texas want, and that is to be closer in travel distance for their games.
naive

Best case IMO
Any particular reason USCe would leave the SEC in this scenario?

I'm not much for image editing but here's the highlights. Now, MOST of the posters were fairly sane about their chance of going to the sec being 0. Others...

I like the way that says they don't want the SEC because you can't compete against schools with no academic standards. Yeah, because I'm sure Texas Tech, Colorado, Nebraska, and a bunch of other Big 12 schools are competing with Harvard on an annual basis. You don't want the SEC, because you'd get your arse kicked even worse than you already do.

hahaha I like how they're trying to package Baylor and Kansas with TA&M and OU.

They'd make more money in the SEC than they would in the Pac 10.

I'm sure they'd make more money in a 16 team SEC than they would in a 16 team PAC-10.

Texas is starting to hear from their fans and Slive is getting new numbers from CBS & ESPN. Texas is coming to the SEC.
I would think from a recruiting and fanbase standpoint UT would go SEC. There is much more talent to be tapped in the area and you got more fans etc. Pac-10 would be trendy but, college is business too and SEC makes sense.

I don't want Texas at all. TAMU and OU would be better fits. It'd be a great move by them, too, to get out of the Longhorn's shadow.

And now there's a story all over the Oklahoma boards saying Josh Heupel was being interviewed by the local news and said Oklahoma to the SEC.
We need to assign Vandy to be their mentor...you know, show them how we do things and such.

I was hoping the SEC would add Texas, Texas A&M, Florida State and Georgia Tech and create four divisions…
North
Georgia Tech
Kentucky
Tennessee
Georgia
East
Florida
Florida State
South Carolina
Vanderbilt
South
Alabama
Auburn
Miss. State
Ole Miss
West
Texas
Texas A&M
LSU
Arkansas
You play the three teams in your division every year, plus two permanent rivals and rotate one team from each of the other divisions every two years…
LSU Schedule:
Texas
Texas A&M
Arkansas
Alabama
Ole Miss
Auburn/Miss State (Rotating every two years)
North Division Team (Rotating every two years)
East Division Team (Rotating every two years)
Texas Schedule:
Texas A&M
LSU
Arkansas
Florida State
Georgia Tech
North Division Team (Rotating every two years)
East Division Team (Rotating every two years)
South Division Team (Rotating every two years)
At the end of the season, there will be a Final Four SEC Tournament Championship which will determine the best team in the country!!!!!

Why stop at 16? Try 24 as a Super Conference.

Oklahoma
Oklahoma State
Missouri
Arkansas
SEC Midwest
LSU
Ole Miss

Auburn
Vandy
SEC Southeast

SEC Northeast
South Carolina
Clemson
Virginia
Virginia Tech
Kentucky
West Virginia
Break the teams up in any way, you want, this is just an example. 4 sub conferences with 6 teams in each sub conference. Each team plays every other team in their sub conference and 1 team in each of the other sub conferences. At the end of the season the top 2 finishers in each sub conference are seeded in an 8 team playoff to determine the SEC Super Conference Champion. Teams 3 through 6 in each sub conference will all be guaranteed bowl games for their seasons. Teams 7 and 8 will not be rewarded and will not be allowed to participate in any bowl games that year.

I think if you're gonna go super-size conference, 18 is the magic number. Treat the divisions as two seperate 9-team conferences. Football- 8 conference games plus a conference championship. Basketball- 16 conference games, home and home with each team in the division, two separate tourneys with a conference championship game. Baseball- 24 conference games, 3 game series with every team in your division, two separate tourneys with a conference championship game, a la the old CWS style.

The womens basketball coach should shut her fricking mouth and be happy she gets paid to coach that awful sport
Posted on 6/11/10 at 8:20 am to BilJ
I'm surprised no one else commented on that. She needs to shut the frick up. This damn sure ain't about her. You think Slive or any conference commissioner cares what she says? Doubt it.
