The only way the “CEO” model works is if your coach has a good eye for coordinator talent and/or can find a coordinator without aspirations of becoming a head coach like venables who is really good......oh, or if your coordinator can steal other teams offensive signals. But then when he gets busted, its a problem

He’s not stealing signals if the other team can’t hide them properly. He is just a master at picking up on them. There’s nothing wrong with that. A lot of coaches do it.

Coach O was the defensive coordinator at USC in like 2010 and 2011. I was shocked too but if you Google it, it was his title there

O (The idiot Shrimp Boat Captain) was a lazy and miserable hire by Alleva and I'm still pissed that we didn't get Tom Herman. Just think, with Herman as HC we could've had DC Aranda (2-7 as a HC) and Larry Fedora as our OC and we would have owned 2019.

He wasn't really. When he turned down his dream school lsu to go to Tennessee it was said that Monte would train him on how to become a DC. Derrick Brooks and Warren Sapp not playing for USC really cut into their results though.

I felt that way when he was first hired until Burrow showed up to campus. Then I felt that maybe he could do it, and then this past year happened. If you really think about it, the two Joe Burrow years made him out to be something that he’s not. 2021 will prove if Orgeron is truly capable of running and sustaining a successful program long-term. We’ll see.

Coach O has been a coordinator. Defensive coordinator at USC while also being DL coach and Recruiting Coordinator.
He also called the defense when he was Ole Miss HC.
