Idiots, but they’re trying to get BYU coach.

Who would Bama get in this scenario?

Why are people talking like this is a thing?

I think they're mostly connecting dots from message board chatter.

Some Bama fans don't like DeBoer, and Penn State has been super quiet for the last month and a half, therefore DeBoer must be jumping ship to Happy Valley.

DeBoer leaving at this point isn't impossible, but would be far more surprising than Lane leaving for LSU IMO.

No he will not, turned them down on Saturday before Iron Bowl.

I’ll ban bet you that he will not be the coach there.

Hardline is tough to know how he’ll fare leaving the OSU machine. Could be great but tough to call it a homerun

Don't see heupel going. He'd.be a fool to leave Tennessee. Too dam cold and not much of a rec base. Heupel would have to be super unhappy with the admin to make that move. Think it's gonna be Hartline

If Deboer up and left I’d imagine they take a swing at Lanning, but if Lanning doesn’t leave, they could also look at his DC Tosh Lupoi. He’s coached at Bama and is one of the best recruiters in the country.

Hypothetically and I mean really hypothetically because I'm genuinely curious.

If Georgia rolls Alabama and Ala misses the playoffs a second year, Debour and Alabama agree to mutually part ways and he goes to PSU, who does Alabama go after?

I'm confident Lane wouldn't if offered.
Dabo probably three years ago but not now.
Lanning - he'd be interested but I don't see it
Heupel - may be the best one left
Sark - total lateral move

Who then?

If they hire Hartline or somehow manage to swing DeBoer, PSU will come out on top

Hartline is in the middle of trying to put together another playoff run for OSU. Highly unlikely that he’ll be going anywhere after this season.

Heupel is the only one that makes any sense there. Dabo would be the end of Alabama as a powerhouse he can't adapt to NIL and they need someone who can.

Texas to Alabama is not a lateral move. It's a step down job wise.

Lanning isn't leaving Nike money in Oregon.

I think Hartline. I would think there’s something to Heupel, but with the season over for Tenn. I think it would already be announced or heavy smoke at least.

High risk/reward but the best they can do short of a HR hire like DeBoer. Woudn’t hurt for them to try to replicate OSU as much as possible.

Is he unhappy at Alabama is the pressure too much

What’s the scoop with him leaving?

Going from Alabama to Penn State is not a lateral move in my opinion

So what would be the reason?

Before going to Fresno State he spent most of his time in South Dakota and the midwest. He might think that PSU is a better fit for him and his family. I do not know that for sure but it is the only thing that I can think of that would make one choose pedophile loving PSU over sibling humping Bama.

Deboer isn't leaving Bama. Bama isnt looking to move from him either. If there was even chatter about that I'm sure sexton would have relayed to kiffin. I'm sure he would have held out just to see what the offer was, possibly to get even more money out of someone. Not saying he would want the bama job but given how it played out it seems plausible if it were possibly coming open to delay decision.

And why leave bama because of the pressure for Penn state when they fired Franklin mid season for not winning?
