Instead of just calling people morons why don't you explain why you wouldn't want Jimbo.

Runs a pro style offense which as long as Saban is at Bama he will continue to destroy.

And that's why Herman and Fleck are behind Jimbo. Why don't you share your own realistic top 5?

Define "realistic". How could anyone know what coaches may or may not be interested? What if John Harbaugh decides in December that he is tired of the NFL grind and wants to go back to college? Or Bill O'Brien? Or Pete Carroll? Maybe none would be interested in LSU; or maybe they would be. Who knows?

I would do digging on probably 20-25 coaches before I would get to Herman or Fleck. A dead cat could hire those guys away from their current schools. Both are big gambles and haven't proven anything. I'm hoping we can do much better.

Your plan is to just hope someone else leaves the nfl instead of actually evaluating the available coaches.

Thanks for the reply. Just wanted to confirm you're the type to complain while bringing no real solutions.

This is a serious question. I keep seeing PJ Fleck on lists around here. I mean really what has the guy done? Rebuilt a Western Michigan team?

1. Herman with Aranda and O
2. Fleck with Aranda and O
3. Jimbo with Aranda and O
4. Aranda with whoever he wants. I trust him.
5. Herman with his staff now
6. Fleck with his choosing.
7. Jimbo with his choosing.

I like him not only for what he has done with that program but also for the type of personality he has. He strikes me as a coach who is a winner and expects nothing less. He will put in the time and effort to always get better. And he personable and is one of the best motivators. I truly believe he will recruit well even though he isn't familiar with this area. Unlike Coach O, he can also coach and run a program. I think he is ready to step up to the big boys.

I have a thread on here giving some insight to him from what little I know. Facts mixed in with my own opinions.

This is a joke right?

He tried absolutely nothing. Even plays we ran against mizzou and OM that worked...weren't even attempted.

Did you see one slant, jet sweep, or wheel route?

Jimbo loses three or four games a year unless he has a Heisman winner at quarterback. And that's with great recruiting classes against an ACC schedule. LSU fans hated him as offensive coordinator. They would hate him more as head coach.

It's a valid concern, but i believe that jimbo would be able to take that offense and modify and improve upon it. He would damn sure call the offense better than what we saw last night. That along with the fact he would have a polished qb in place are why i like him.

I'll put it to you this way, if jimbo was our HC since the beginning of this year, i think we would be undefeated. I don't feel that way about O.

Interestingly enough Saban is actually changing his defense up to combat these types of offenses (spread/hunh). He talked about how his players have trimmed down to get more speed to go sideline to sideline. So, i am not sure if he will continue to destroy pro offenses anymore than spread after his defensive update.

The issue when we play Bama usually comes to down to shitty play calling and a poor offensive scheme. O/Ensminger showed us what we would get with O as HC more of the same. So don't want them. Jimbo or Herman would be our best bets to beat Saban, imo.

Why? He checks most of the boxes we need in order to get our offense up to speed and competitive again.

How do most of his losses play out? Is it because he gets shut out or because is defense played like shite? If it's the latter then he should still be considered. I think if he keeps the LSU defense in tact and gets us some better QB play we would be good.

Upon further reflection...

1. Jimbo
2. Herman
3. Chip Kelly
4. Aranda -- sliding him up here.
5. CU coach McIntyre / P.J. Fleck
6. Desperation mode.... Willie Taggart.... Lou Tepper, Hal Hunter

I think Aranda should be at the top of the B list.
