I’ll play along with the “white whale” deal…
There’s only a few coaches I would say fall under that subjective category….
Saban
Dabo
Riley
Urban
Gruden
Maybe Brian Kelly
Maybe Matt Rhule?
Pete Carroll?
-Franklin is a great candidate, don’t know if I’d put him under the white whale/showstopper hire category with these other coaches tho

Stupid. If he wanted to come here that would be a homerun hire. That guy would win and win consistently with LSU's resources.
Since Franklin keeps getting floated out not sure why they'd make that move when they could make a run at CUM instead. That would 1000x better than Franklin off and on the field. Worst CUM has done is get a little stinky pinky on the side. The rape stuff on Franklin was really bad. He'd have LSU on the death penalty within year 3.
White Whale seems like a reference to Franklin btw. I believe he was called that in the past. Good coach but no way they'd hire him right now with what's going on at LSU. Miles well aim higher with CUM if you go this route even if it's risky.
