College game pro game are so different. More so in the day to day operations. It’s interesting in theory but I question the practicality

Not really, just because the X’s and O’s game in the NFL is the highest level doesn’t mean that the HC skill set translates to college. Totally different age group, different length of player tenures, method of teaching, set of responsibilities, etc.

I’m not buying that a very successful NFL head coach can completely pivot and go into extremely high level college ball and be highly successful too. I really wouldn’t be that excited if we hired him, it would be a high risk high reward scenario and I don’t think we need that, especially right now

I’ll say this, he’d pull in some pretty ridiculous classes just on reputation alone early. We know he can coach and has done so at the highest level for an impressive length of time. I don’t question his ability to pull in players and coach them up, but he hasn’t been around a college program in a long arse time. If he’s committed to it I doubt it would take him long to adjust.

With that said, there’s no fricking way that will ever happen. So…. We can wonder until the end of time on that one.

No. What success has he had at the college level?

Huge step up from Les Miles and Ed Orgeron. I’d like to see what he could do. You don’t coach in the NFL as long as he has if you’re not a good coach.

Yes.

The man has coached at the highest level for 14 seasons and never had a losing season. That's insane.

Yes.

I think it’s be a learning curve but I feel he’d have INSANE recruiting potential. Like early 2000s Pete Carroll level classes. Dude is charismatic as hell, a massive name, and still young.

Eh not really

He took over a very good team with a Young QB. Won a title in their championship window and then did nothing since.

He is a defensive guy but Lebeau was the mind behind all their defenses

I don’t know. If he wants to recruit then yes. But what happens if he stinks at it. As the face of the program, absolutely want him. Plus we’d get to him him say Splash

He is an all time great but I don't really want an NFL coach regardless of who it is. Too much of a leap/risk.

Absolutely. His recruiting classes would be insane and he’s a respected coach who would be able to attract great coordinators

A Sun Belt coach would present a much more risk than a SB coach. Tomlin would be a home run hire along with Riley.

Everybody says he would be a homerun hire.

I would still have my concerns just because it's college football.

I think he would do great. Would need the right staff around to get him accustomed to the college game. But players would love him. He is a very smart guy. Only reason I could see him going is he knows his qb is done and the nfl is a very heavily driven qb league. Hard to find the studs and keep sustained success without a stud.

Hell yes. If he wants to come you hire him.

There’s no guarantee that it will work out. the questions about him are no bigger than the questions about others. He’s a proven winner and championship coach.
