Why wouldn’t we promote Calloway and go after D Reeves or B White?

We should go after them. Why wouldn’t we? Is Coach O/S Woodward even considering them?

Dan Reeves seems a bit past his prime

Because it would make too much sense, that’s all I can come up with at this point! If we can’t get Freeman gimme Brad White and Calloway!

This is exactly what we should do, we can only hope it's what occurs.

2 really different questions

Is Calloway really the best LSU can get at OC tho?

For the continuity of our offense I think Calloway is, because Joe Brady is not walking back through that door ever.

Would you put your job on the line for Callaway? I'd make him QB coach and get an established OC

No, talking about David Reeves - UAB

Zero chance. Absolutely zero

This is true for all of the hires. Orgeron must get this set of hires correct.

Who is Calloway again? And why do we want to promote him?

When it comes to hiring good coaches, Coach O has not been highly successful.
I'm not very confident at this point that he will select the right ones. I hope he proves all of us wrong and gets all these hired right because that means LSU should hopefully be set for a while moving forward.
Whateve he does, he better not hire retreads like Pelini that haven't done a damn thing in a decade or longer

Calloway is an offensive analyst on staff who we acquired from Samford. He had great success there as an OC for a couple seasons. With that being said this board feels like he is the second coming of Joe Brady. Of all years when Ed needs to get this right or else he gets the boot, I don’t see how everyone wants to go all in on someone so unproven. Could he end up being a great OC? Sure. But the time for gamble hires is past us now.

It should be White or Reeves, as from the information on this site seem to say it's an extremely long shot to pull Freeman away from Cincy for numerous reasons.

If you knew him you’d absolutely do it. But since you obviously dont I guess it’s fair for you to ask the question. He’s one of the best recruiters in the game and never stops working. He’s a work horse. To say no one wants to give a chance to him because he isn’t proven at this level is honestly comical. This guy was brought up in big time football. He learned the big time game from being at auburn, Alabama, Georgia, and Houston from the time he was a baby while his dad coached and introduced him to every coach and player there. As far as I understand, he’s continued those relationships with those coaches and players. Just because his first start was in fcs means nothing. This kid is meant for greater things. Ask anyone who knows him ..... don’t just speculate! Someone’s definitely going to pick him up if we don’t jump on it. He’s not going to stay put as an analyst. he knows his worth

What is that based on?

Walker Howard and Garrett Nussmeier.
They both credit him to calling them every day and developing a close relationship with them. They both speak very highly of him. Also, speaking with other coaches and hearing their praises about how he’s at the top of his recruiting game.
