Seems like every OC option seriously discussed he's included in (and for no good football reason).

Something is really not right.

From Matt Moscona
quote:

Matt Moscona @MattMoscona · 2h Steve will play a key role. I’m certain of that. I’m told they’re interviewing offensive assistants all weekend. Roles TBD

Pretty much what I want to know. I'm sure he's a good dude and a good recruiter. But what's so great about him that you basically chose him over everybody else?

Its nothing more than O not wanting to relinquish power to anyone.

It's about self preservation. If O hires someone smarter than himself than that could turn into a threat to O's head coaching job. He will hire someone he perceives to be dumber than him, or loyalty him so his head coaching job is not threatened. If it doesn't appear that Aranda is going to the NFL than watch for O to start having issues with him.

steadied the ship and helped O steal the job so "O thinks the world of him"

Its very strange (something ain't right) and very disappointing.

There are decision makers who do not have our best interest in mind and this fascination with Ensminger is the proof.

Want to know what’s worse? He didn’t want the job. He had to be talked into it and persuaded financially to do so.

The persistence of it is what leads me to be very suspicious.

Yeah it just doesn’t make sense. He didn’t want the job. He was comfortable in his spot. He recruits well, and had a relatively low pressure gig. He could survive coaching changes and bad seasons. But they kept coming. At some point a guy his age looks at the money and says, “frick it”. O really has no clue what he’s doing. Zero.

I think O knows what he's doing but it's not in LSU's best interest. He knows.

My guess -- Orgeron wants an OC that is on the "same page" as he is. Looks like Miles/Cameron part deux.

I'm not advocating for Ensminger by any means(I want the Ok State guy), but did you even watch our offense after he took it over? He threw it a good bit.

3 reasons

1. O wants to keep the people who allowed him to stab Miles in the back and orchestrate his coup out of loyalty

2. O is deficient in his "football brain" and needs people who won't confuse him or make him think outside of his limited box

3. Ensminger is no threat to usurp O. he's safe and will never be seen as a guy we need to dump O for

to summarize: loyalty on the outside, but really insecurity on the inside
