How so? Not being sarcastic but really because I don't know their recuriting base and resources. However, if you are basing this off of tradition in that they won 10 national championships pre 1950 and 1 in 1997 then I don't buy it. Too many times people equate programs who won way back to being "elite" jobs. The only things that make a job inherently elite and better than others are money/resources from alumni and conference, commitment to investing resources from boosters and administration, and recruiting landscape. It's why most people consider the Florida job better than Alabama, for instance.

Income tax is what puts Florida over the top.

As someone said, no one with half a brain would leave FSU for Michigan.
Flame away Michigan homers.

Michigan would never hire a good ole boy from the deep south to be their head football coach. If they gave Rich-Rod a difficult time, imagine what they would do to Jimbo.

If they're willing to pay $6+ million a year I'm sure he would consider? I see lots of Miles to Michigan, Jimbo to LSU...but why wouldn't Michigan just cut out the middle man and pursue Jimbo themselves?

Have you seen Jimbo in recent press interviews lately? Those people in Michigan couldn't sleep at night knowing they hired Jimbo and worrying about what's he going to do to embarass the university. Jimbo looks really bad. He's kinda toxic right now.

Winston has not had a great season

I don't see Jimbo leaving his comfy chair to rebuild a program. And let's face it, that's what Michigan is going to have to do after the last few coaches they've had. If Les had no ties to Michigan it wouldn't be even a conversation as to whether or not he'd be staying at LSU for sure. I don't think he'll leave LSU but the conversation will be there every time Michigan fires a coach just because of the history. Now, IF Les takes the Michigan job, I could see LSU waiving a shite load of cash in Jimbo's face and him bolting FSU for an already stable program in LSU with a hot bed of recruits.

Over Harbaugh, Sean Payton, and Mike Tomlin?
If they get to their 2nd tier, then maybe.

Everybody in here is pretty much shooting down the notion, silly me I guess...

Yeah, right. Those same pompous sorts who look down their nose as Miles for his supposed ethical shortcomings are going to consider Jameis Winston’s #1 enabler? Not likely.
