I really expected Kelly to act quickly and announce the firing today or at worst tomorrow.

He is who he is as an above average HC nothing more.

You should spend a little time and watch his press conferences. He was asked about evaluating coaches and he said that the first week is about evaluating players and doing exit interviews with them. Then the 2nd week is about evaluating all staff starting with himself. Kelly has been a coach for over 30 years and is about the process.

Prepare to be disappointed. I don’t expect him to return, but he will “voluntarily” leave for an NFL job (at Kelly’s urging)

You don't need to make an announcement for water to officially be wet. He's been gone for weeks. Public disclosure of this fact isn't relevant

The only intrigue entails who we've already reached out to

Do you really need to see his head roll publicly and with haste to give you a modicum of solace or gratification?

Anyone with eyes knows what’s coming. The man has a family and still has a future in coaching somewhere. Let this be done civilly and behind closed doors, not for the appeasement of the masses

Not rushing the hire should be a part of his process. Firing House should not. Early signing day is three weeks away. By all accounts, we are struggling in that area due to the fact House couldn't close the deal with a $20 whore in Thailand. Fire the dude and be the first to market to begin the evaluation process.

Lack of public announcement that he will not be sticking around does not prevent us from being first to market

Kelly isn't scratching his balls for 2 weeks. We're already in the market

Dave Aranda could be fired tomorrow, do you really think that would be the first time we would have reached out to his agent in the last month?

Of course not, he would be an idiot not to. But again, signing day is in three weeks. House's departure needs to be announced asap. Look at the lack of direction on the D-Line coaching situation. We are sucking out loud at D-Line recruiting, and there is little doubt the uncertainty is affecting that. Now throw in the fact we have no DC.

Kelly has zero championship. That is a huge red flag.

I hate to break it to you but there’s nothing we can do to save the defensive recruiting class in 3 weeks. It takes months to build relationships with players. We’re going to have a bad defensive recruiting class. Maybe we can get one player who was on the fence but the damage is already done. The new guy will focus on portal and 2025 which means there’s no rush.

I’d be shocked if House goes anywhere.

Also, see how long it took Polian to transition out of ST after the season was over.

Recruiting is n play right now
