Agreed- And with all the openings everywhere, has there been ANY talk of Stoops going somewhere else besides LSU? ZERO!! Not exactly a hot commodity, is he??

He absolutely great if you want mediocrity and you are happy competing against Ole Miss for third fiddle in the west.

He can't build an offense for shite and NCAA modern offenses win championships not defenses. He's not an elite recruiter and he's definitely not a sexy pick at all. He will do nothing for this recruiting class and nothing in the near future. He's not a splash hire. If you're going this route you should just take a bigger risk in Napier who has a way bigger ceiling than Stoops will ever have. He's young, has a higher ceiling, and has many connections built into Louisiana already. He can also be an elite recruiter as he's proven in the past.
Stoops is a hire you make when you can't hire anyone else and you're okay with settling for pure mediocrity. You're going to get a much worse version of Les Miles at LSU with him. I shouldn't need to remind anyone how bad Les Miles offenses were but he was also at the very least a top 5 recruiter in the country. Stoops can't do that and hasn't sniffed it. Miles was even a great recruiter at Okie State.

10 win season since
Take a closer look at this 10 win season and you'll see why. There is not a single win this season over a team with a winning conference record, except for Chattanooga who is fcs.
You can't just look at the record and assume it's a great season. You have to be more critical than that. Which apparently is a hard thing to do these days.

He's an express train to perpetual 9-3 seasons. High floor, low ceiling, no chance of domination or dynasty.

Because he’s at Kentucky. I guess if Stoops were winning fewer games at a Big 12 bottom dweller people would be okay with him coming
Campbell last 4 seasons at Iowa State:
7-6
9-3 (Covid season)
7-6
8-5
Stoops last 4 seasons at Kentucky:
9-3
5-6 (Covid season)
8-5
10-3

Because we had higher hopes

It's harder to win at the No. 2 school in Iowa than even Kentucky.

Don’t understand the Stoops hate.
He isn’t my 1st choice but he has proved he can develop a program long term in a difficult environment. He recruits well for Kentucky. I think he would do well here

Don’t want KY Stoops because…… plenty of reasons.

Shitty offense that screams "little sister" philosophy.
Stoops philosophy seems to be "decrease chance of losing" and not "increase chance of winning". That's great for a little sister school, but wont' win you shite at an elite school. He's Les Miles without the cooky personality.
*ETA: Les had much bigger balls at his little sister stop

Who do you think we are going to get? Every possible candidate is a coach that is successful at a smaller school. Its better than a coach that was unsuccessful at a tier 1 school. Hate to bust your bubble but we are not going to steal a coach that is very successful at a tier 1 school.

It’s an(other) uninspiring choice at a(nother) pivotal point for the program

So you don't want to hire him because you don't want to frick him? Nothing to do with coaching or recruiting. Let me guess, you really want to hire Kiffin.

This is literally the strategy of almost every hire made by a major program.

Just look at his record. That should do it.
There are guys who will suck off Matt Campbell but shite on Stoops like Kentucky is supposed to be good at football and Stoops
Is under achieving.

30-49 SEC record; 58-53 total in 9 yrs at Kentucky????

To be fair, Campbell is over a decade younger and has built up 2 programs instead of being in the same place for 9 years.
I'm not even shitting on what Stoops has done at Kentucky, but if I'm down to these two as my options, I'm taking Campbell every time.
