I honestly don’t get it. He got Kentucky their first 10 win season since the 70’s in 2018 and 9-3 this year is the best non Stoops season they’ve had since the 80’s.

He’s improved their recruiting a lot too, they were routinely in the 40’s/50’s before and now he has them in the top 25 regularly.

He looks like a Shoney’s manager

Terrible idea to hire that guy

The hell with anybody with the last name Stoops. Also it took him damn near a decade to get to 9 wins.

Absolutely catastrophic hire. Probably the worst option that has been considered aside from OBrien

This reminds me of Moneyball when they said nobody wanted Kevin Youkillis because his batting stance was weird.

Sure, he’s a huge upgrade over Les and Ed and he might turn out to be great at LSU if hired.

But come on, you have to admit it would be a let down if that’s who ended up here. At least for a while. Now if he gets here and wins, all that would be forgotten.

Just look at his record. That should do it.

Mark Stoops is built like a bull dike, lesbian, softball catcher. He tends to have a good defense coupled with an abortion of an offense. Might as well re-hire Les Miles if you want Stoops. Fire Woodward directly into the center of the sun if he hires Stoops.

On his 3rd OC who is basically identical to Peetz he fired his other 2 OC so that shows me he doesn't have stability on the offensive side of the ball

He’s not my first choice or anything but I don’t understand the “horrible hire” takes.

BOB, yeah THAT’S a horrible hire

Probably the same reason us Gator people would've committed seppuku if he was our guy...Sometimes you just know.

Because we’ve been down this road before. Hiring the coach who’s had success at a smaller school.

Gerry Dinardo
Curley Hallman

Same reason they are down on Campbell, even though Campbell is the best college candidate that is still available.

As an outsider, I think Stoops is just too vanilla and predictable. Y’all should learn from 2019 that if you get an offensive genius and a good QB combined with the never-ending flow of brute strength and speed that seems to grow on trees in LA then the sky is the limit. Of course that doesn’t mean Stoops can’t hire a good OC, but I see no evidence from his KY tenure that he is willing to turn over the philosophy to a coordinator like that.

give him a second, he's trying to google something to justify his disdain for stoops. if you're looking at the situation objectively, a guy who's turned a basketball school into a solid football program capable of winning 10 games is a no brainer for at least an interview. the problem is that this board saw shiny objects like lincoln riley, and though they were above hiring a solid program builder.

btw, harbaugh's comments directed at ryan day fit lincoln riley as well.

Dinardo never had a winning season at Vandy, not really the same thing

Curley wasn’t even at a p5 much less another SEC school.
