I think everyone likes Orgeron...literally everyone.

Where did you get the idea that he's not liked?

4 games doesn't tell you whether someone can run a program long term.

If LSU wins out, I guarantee that O will be the LSU head coach next year. And he would deserve it.

And I don't dislike Herman, but I just dislike people who want to hand this guy the keys to our program based off a win against a Florida State team that didn't want to be playing against Houston in a bowl game and a win against an Oklahoma team that's given up 40 points or more in over half their games, while at the same time losing to powerhouse programs like Navy and SMU.

There is no such thing as a sure bet. I want to wait and see how everything plays out first before trying to name a coach in October. Of course, like everyone here, I have no say so in it, so it's really a moot point.

I don't want to hand the keys to anyone. I just want them to make an informed, educated decision. That can only happen if they interview all interested candidates, not simply decide that the coaching search is over because O won some games.

He doesn't deserve a "chance" at this top 5 job because he is not now and more than likely never will be a top 5 coach.

If he were going to prove himself, rise through the ranks and ascend to LSU's level, then he would have done so before now. He has literally coached forever and in all of that time has failed to merit enduring consideration as anything more than what he is: DL position coach.

However, i must say that if our 7-10 top candidates say "no", then maybe, just maybe, we do buy Orgeron, short and cheap. At that point, I suppose we have no choice but to roll the dice on bebe, or yaw yaw, or jo jo, or...whatever.

Not over more proven guys that have also had more success than O.

I agree. Evaluate all coaches risk and reward factors. Make the decision based on that. That's all i want.

Hugh Freeze @ Ole Miss 37-22, overall 67-29 and 4-1 in bowl games.

Coach O @ Ole Miss 10-25, overall 19-27 including interim jobs. No bowl appearances

Which one may get the death penalty for Ole Miss?

Sometimes success comes with a heavy price. One concern is if the head coach is shady enough to cheat to win. The other concern is if he can keep people involved with the widespread corruption from going public and exposing him.

It's definitely nowhere near as bad as an Ole Miss team losing to say... Wyoming.

What was Ole Miss' national ranking when they lost to Wyoming?

Wyoming would probably beat SMU by as least 3 touchdowns this season and would have beaten them worse in 2004 or whatever historic year they played Ole Miss.

I'll see that and raised you:

Nutt's first class would have been seniors the year Freeze took over 7-6 (very few if any of Orgeron's players left).

His second class would have been seniors in Freeze's second year 8-5 (no Orgeron players)

His third and final class would be seniors in Freeze's 3rd season - 9-4 (no Orgeron players)

Wouldn't that make Freeze's comments about Coach O about to turn the corner even more truthful and correct?

What you show is that Nutt couldn't coach his way out of a wet paper bag at Ole Miss but was still able to win 9 games and bowl games in each of his first two seasons with the shape CEO left the program in.

The Hermanista's have a very selective memory that apparently does not include the last 3 weeks. They can only remember stuff about Ole Miss from 2004-2007.

Apparently, Houston is still undefeated since Hermsmak took over. Though they haven't played a game since week 5.

I didn't do anything to you. You got flustered when you realized you were full of shite and had backed yourself into a corner and there was no way out besides making personal attacks. Don't try to blame me for your shortcomings and unfettered love affair with the Tomster.

Amen. There are a some coaches who will be fired this year that were successful at their previous school, got a raise and moved on only to not have the same good fortune at the new place.

If he wins out, ok. Give him a chance. But why are people so crazy about him other than he is from Louisiana. Does Janzen Jackson ring a bell? Why do people have such a loyalty to Coach O, when he was so underhanded to LSU when it was so unnecessary?

Urban Meyer just lost to an unranked Penn State. Do you not want him either? If coaches aren't allowed to have a loss every once in a while then why the frick is Coach O your guy? He's lost more than anyone we're suggesting.

Wyoming went 4-7 in 2005 when they beat Ole Miss. Clearly world-beaters.

Honestly, I'm not even sure he is an O homer (maybe he's a closeted O homer). He hates Tom Herman so much that he will try and pump almost any other option to prove his point...even if the result is him saying nonsensical bullshite. I've never seen someone have such a personal hatred for a coach. So it's more about Herman is a POS not that O is GOAT.

He won't tell you who he would like to be head coach. He just says Herman is definitely a worthless coach...so basically a Herman troll. He'll likely lash out at you and me for even questioning him. Just how he operates.

I'm already familiar with it. He's got to be a Coach O fan, if he was a Jimbo fan he wouldn't criticize Herman about losing games to inferior talent recently.

I don't know...his hatred for Herman is so blind he may not have connected those dots until it was too late. Hence, the reason he won't name a coach he would like to see as HC.

It's weird that your last two or three posts are about me. Just like yesterday on pages 2 and 3 of this same thread.

I thought you said you were a male. I know after one conversation we had I was convinced you were a female and started addressing you as such. You vehemently denied being a female and said you were definitely a male. I took your word for it. Now I'm starting to wonder again.

This is how I envision the conversation between you and Sport Tiger or 7nette sitting on the patio of a local pub.

Tiger Tracker:
"Chanteal, girl did you see the shirt Tiger Ree was wearing? I don't think that shade of blue goes with those jeans. I didn't like his shoes either. He needs to start shopping at the Boutique with me."

"Did you see that football game last night? With all those big men running around tackling each other. Reminded me of the last time Tiger Ree made me melt. I need another virgin pina colada, do you want one? Girl, they are SO GOOD!!!"

"Yeah, that Tiger Ree is something else. I have found a new tactic with him the last couple of days. I just go into threads he's in and offer my support and understanding to other posters he's having conversations with. I have found that I can take little jabs at him this way and he doesn't verbally slap me back into my place like he does when I directly confront him. So far it has seemed to work very well"

"Girl, have you seen the football coach at Houston. I have a recording of him kissing all of his players. I watch it at least four times every day and God I wish that man was the coach at LSU."

Ha Ha Ha, You are a little bitch !!!

Like i said before: be glad i am a male because you would probably kill yourself if you found out a girl had more footbal intellect than you.

I find it humorous that you even think calling me a woman is an insult. Not sure what that has to do with any of the points myself and several others brought up. Probably matters in your homophobic and misogynistic world, but most people living in the year 2016 don't really give a shite as it has no bearing on their life.

Tom Herman and I send our kisses:
